@Dame__Jane To be fair 1980’s to 2000’s Ahuriri was an area that no-one wanted to live. It had tanneries, abbatoirs, oil tanks and a fish factory within a fee hundred metres of this house

Some guy told Chris Penk that new homes are too warm in winter, so he wants to roll back widely-supported insulation standards. The state of it. rnz.co.nz/news/national/…

@MrHilariouskiwi @NapierinFrame Those numbers are out of date ; the new requirements ( which they are looking to reverse ) are much higher, roofs are currently required to be R6.6

Re the new #ThreeStrikes law what I’d like but am too lazy to do is some #dataviz with how many people have x number of the convictions. How many people have 1-5, 5-10, etc of the convictions of the list. But also how many convictions the people in each category have in total

@InfovoreMatt I think it is a town, in the same way Havelock North is. It was designed not to need to connect to Hastings ( hence the schools, shopping centre etc )

@AlanWilkinsonNZ @MarkGraham_Akl @dbseymour You are mixing 2 completely separate things; yes toilet roll heights are set for public Accessible WC’s ( you might appreciate those rules if you ever have a disability where you need to use a wheelchair ) under the Building Code, but colours are set under the District Plan (RMA)

@MarkGraham_Akl @ajecaldwell @dbseymour Yes, toilet roll height specified for buildings with a public toilet - all commercial I guess. Colours are specified for our local "historic Precinct" in which nearly all buildings in the main street are no older than I am. Plenty more buteaucratic lunacy where that comes from.

Removing the consent process and revised RMA is unbelievably stupid. Why would companies want to insure new builds with no checks on their quality? I have no idea what ⁦@dbseymour⁩ has been smoking but it has led to utter lunacy. nzherald.co.nz/nz/election-20…

@ajecaldwell @dbseymour No-just the process that checks that homes are designed to code and inspects them to ensure they’re being built to code. And you’re ok with that?

Architecture student seeking one of my remote photos for his thesis; "sure, we do a nominal rate to help students, just to cover my admin", a few coffees worth. "Sorry too much". As a fellow creative he's lining up for a career of hearing same. Wonder if he'll do nominal rates?

I’ve been looking for cheap (free) office space I can pop in and out of. The local library is close but apparently it can ‘get noisy in the school holidays’ 🤣 and the EIT library, which would be perfect because…coffee, is closed due to flooding :-( Will keep looking
