In the last month, HAF has been targeted with false allegations of dual loyalty by @Harpers, @sacbee_news’ @Joerubincreates and now @mukta_jo in an @AlJazeera piece funded by @columbiajourn. Yup, we’ve got their attention and we’re effective 💪🏼! Slow clap for Mukta and what she says was “7+ months” of work to find that HAF’s advocacy for Hindu American interests is legal and on behalf of no entity besides the 4 million strong Hindu American community 👏 We could have saved @columbiajourn a lot of money!

As high tension grips Indo-Canadian ties, it is imperative that Canada’s political leaders are sensitive to the impact on over a million Indian origin people living in Canada. A prominent political leader, @theJagmeetSingh hijacking the moment to call for a ban on an ostensible “RSS network” is dangerous. That term is defined in Canada, by a Singh allied group, as a dog whistle to target several active Hindu charities and community orgs. We deplore these comments as an inappropriate targeting of Hindu Canadians, especially in light of recent Hindu temple attacks and the brutal assault of a Hindu Canadian journalist.

I am glad we are having this discussion. There has been so much disinformation on this topic by folks who are distorting history and legal judgements to create divisions in the community. Both @Raju4Equality and @SunitaSunitaV are being disingenuous. Ram Temple became a healing event for nearly a billion Hindus, and it happened legally. India’s highest court - which no one will ever accuse of being biased in anyway - allowed building of the temple and considered 400 years of history (not just going back to 1947, as Raju does in his analysis) in doing so. Yet, it’s important to acknowledge that Babri masjid was illegally demolished by a mob. That was indeed a divisive event. It led to a lot of a riots in India. But building of the temple happened in a legal and constructive way. To call building of Ram temple as a divisive event is deliberate ignorance of facts and sentiments about this historical redressal of a wrong that has been perpetuated for centuries. To denigrate the float that celebrates that symbol of faith is victimizing the community all over again. The float is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate that redressal. But @Hindus4HR are intent on turning this into a controversy, egged on by well-known Islamist organizations with ties to extremist ideologies, for a simple reason: to divide Indian American community and to further their brand of extreme politics. We see the impact of that sort of politics in every part of America. Do look at their track record. Please. @HinduAmerican and NY Indian American community - thank you for staying on the side of truth on this. @ericadamsfornyc - I hope you are not browbeaten into siding with divisive forces here.

This temple unites all Indians. Who is the crazy person @SunitaSunitaV supporter of Jihadis trying to divide Indians? The temple is built on a site which was legally cleared by the SC. Jihadis and Islamists cannot dictate to Indians what they should do.look at BD when innocent Hindus are being killed and this jihadi supporter has no words to express protest.
