@ZayOsirisGaming @Bungie This way the fans who actually play Destiny would actually know what the hell Marathon is / was. And might be more inclined to pay attention to it.

@akaRobTheGreat @Bungie Marathons PvP would’ve been a great PvP focused DLC for Destiny 2. Which is nuts because Destiny 2 never had an exclusively PvP focused DLC. What a golden opportunity just wasted

I’m gonna take this as an opportunity to say something I think a lot of people have felt — but haven’t truly been able to put into words..!
Marathon would’ve been successful — had @Bungie been substantially more respectful to the Destiny player-base, over these last few years..!

@ZayOsirisGaming @Bungie Again, I agree. They could have created Marathon as a expansion (under the D2 budget), let our insane genius fellow fans test the ever loving hell out of it and entire quarter. Vault it in D2. Copy paste it as a seperate game in a year. Two birds, One stone.

My dream was to rip Crucible out of D2 and put it in this separate game. Now D2 is smaller and doesn't have to worry about pvp when it came to imagination and balancing.
And Pvp fans have their own title supported by Bungie with room to grow.
But what do I know.

Ironically Bungie figured this out about 5 to 7 years too late. They let pvp wither and die inside of D2 to develop a separate game (Marathon) and refocused D2 on PVE and Raid/Dungeon content.
The Problem is that Marathon isn't Crucible. And that's a problem for Destiny fans.

I've said for years that Bungie should have separated Pvp from PVE after D1. D2 should have been exclusively a pve experience and "Crucible" should be its own separate title.

@DestinLegarie I still believe if Bungie spun Destiny PVP into its own game after D1, both (Destiny PVE and pvp) could have coexisted and been in a good space.

I'll never forget finding that hidden tormentor rush mode at the end of Onslaught and freaking the fuck out on here. The devs were so damn cool. They love this shit like we do.
I hope Bungie/Sony takes care of them as they move on.

Go nuts. A new exotic weapon from secret missions like Whisper or Zero Hour that's utterly broken? Go for it. Clever Dragon making a return? Go for it. Then entire foundry arsenal tied to a destination? Go for it. Make all weapons craftable? DO THAT SHIT. GO F'N NUTS.

I'm going to miss the Hell out of Destiny when the content truly stops. It's been a part of my life for over a decade. I'm sad it's ending be I hope the devs give us something spectacular on the way out. Leave the game in an absurdly fun space.

@NoobMastersD2 I thought about this. Perhaps Sony 's vision of D3 won't be a live service game at all. D1 initially wasn't. It could be more one and done iterative like a space version of Ghosts of Tsushima.

Thinking about the final update for D2. We’ve all been focused on the fact that Bungie isn’t making a Destiny 3.
No one has considered the possibility that Sony may have given the IP to another studio.
