@ktcat @Hebro_Steele @WillRicci And many employers of such ranters, or their students or fellow debaters have suicidal empathy and therefore do not confront the lack of truth. That's my point.

@akamoderate @Hebro_Steele @WillRicci Suicidal empathy describes a symptom of moral chaos, not a cause. The cause is the reduction of one's model of reality from an objective, universal, external one to a self-derived, local one. The professor did not value truth, he valued his own ranting.

I had a professor at Cal State Long Beach who constantly trashed America as racist, oppressive, and irredeemable. He mocked the Constitution, capitalism, and virtually every American institution. At the end of the semester, he gave an emotional story about how his mother crawled through sewer pipes to reach America. So I raised my hand and asked: if America is this irredeemable, oppressive country, why did she risk everything to come here? And why are neither of you interested in going back? He didn’t answer the question. Instead he called me disrespectful. That’s because much of this ideology is not rooted in reality testing. It’s institutional theater rewarded by academia, media, and activism. The system incentivizes moral denunciation of America while simultaneously depending on the opportunities America uniquely provides.

@Hebro_Steele @WillRicci Why is suicidal empathy ruled out? I think it fits. Why do universities hire these America-haters in droves? Why aren't they challenged more in the classroom? Why do they run so many things? SE is definitely a factor. They can't be challenged.

@WillRicci It's such a simple question. It should be asked all the time, in academia, of activists, on MSNOW and CNN panels.

@measureduntil @HuskiesEduBlog You cannot compare public school education 25-35 years ago to now. The current standards (e.g. what passes for rigor, discipline, creative teachers) are so low, with very few exceptions. Homeschooling, a few private schools and some religious-based schools are the only way to go.

@HuskiesEduBlog Do parents not know they can have their kids read books outside of school? I don't understand the public vs homeschool comparison. Most people are homeschooling their children after receiving a public education themselves. Which adds an entirely new absurdity to it.

Favoring a failed mayor like Bass or the clueless city council member Raman—both catastrophic and dangerous to LA — says that you have no common sense, self-preservation instincts or compassion for homeless people. It takes a real cold heart and mind to allow people to live in their own filth and kill dogs. Pratt is going after the cause—Bass can’t or won’t solve any of this. Can you imagine her as mayor if we have an earthquake in LA? A major terrorist attack?

Righteous outrage ffs. Stop shilling for Bass. You are part of the problem with bs tweets like this. A Google search shows 17,000 homeless encampment fires in LA in 2025; 75,000 since 2020. Pratt rightly attributes homelessness to drug addiction & mental illness. His plan is to solve that problem first-not fixing the teeth of the meth-addicted.

The world is about to get a master class in antisemitism. Israel's minister Ben Gvir's behavior towards the flotilla activists was unacceptable. I said so myself. World leaders all posted angry denunciations of the Israeli government and summoned Israeli ambassadors for a dressing down. Here, the same activists are receiving much more brutal treatment at the hands of the Spanish government. What we won't see however is an international outcry against the Spanish government. This imbalance isn't due to the vagaries of international diplomacy. People hold the Jewish state to a higher standard than they do any other state, and fundamentally it's due of bigotry and hatred. @AnitaAnandMP

**In the video:** The Palestinian flag is being raised on its own separate flagpole right next to the U.S. flag on another pole of the same height. They're side-by-side at the same level, not one stacked above the other. **NYC Intrepid Museum:** Yes, still there. The Chinese Consulate General is located directly across the street at 520 12th Avenue (right on 12th Ave near 46th St). Like most consulates, it flies the PRC flag out front as standard diplomatic practice. This hasn't changed.

Oh ffs, this is a gaslighting, condescending little tweet. Outrage doesn’t begin to describe what most people are feeling about Bass and this city. It reminds me of Biden saying Republicans want to “keep y’all in chains” when his party takes for granted black votes and keeps people beholden to government programs.

Went to a gallery in the fashion district. Sunday afternoon. Had to walk a few scary blocks. Wanted to check out some galleries in the arts district 1-1/2 miles away. Drove 1/2 way & turned around & drove home. It was like driving through a Zombie film set with shit and graffiti as set dressing.
