Today marks 8 years since my mother, Rahile Dawut, was arbitrarily detained in a Chinese prison—simply for being Uyghur and for her academic work preserving our culture. Please help share my story. I will continue to speak until my mother is free. #FreeRahileDawut

Yesterday was my mother birthday. While others celebrated with family, she spent another year in Chinese prison-alone and silenced. This video is my message to her: you are not forgotten. #FreeRahileDawut

I’ve made it a monthly habit to check on @akida_p given her mom’s cruel & ongoing imprisonment. She fears the world may forget the injustice facing her mom. I reassured her that crimes against humanity won't be forgotten & many care about Rahile, Ekpar & all innocent #Uyghurs.
