[Performance information]
"Twelve years of time.
And another departure.
Since their debut on April 7, 2014, AKMU has written their growth through music, passing through the season of innocence, crossing adolescence, and taking their first steps out into the world.
After that, their music has become even deeper and broader. Songs dealing with existence and loss, love and separation have touched the hearts of the public.
AKMU, who has continuously expanded their musical spectrum, is now even referred to as a genre of their own.
Having left their safe nest and setting sail once again, [AKMU] now drops anchor at the 'Cemter of Inspiration', and comes to visit .
"A period to try everything we want to do and do what we're capable of to the best extent. This album holds AKMU's thoughts, dreams, and the world we hope for."
— AKMU Lee Chanhyuk (from an interview with the production team)
Their 4th full-length album, released for the first time in seven years, shows their deepened music and reveals the place where [AKMU] stands now and the 'next' they are heading towards.
"There were only two siblings. Under the unfamiliar sky of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, they leaned on each other's voices to create harmonies and songs. The journey that began with 'Don't Cross Your Legs' was unstoppable.
From all-kills on music charts and music shows, to the younger sister Lee Suhyun's growth as a vocalist, and the older brother Lee Chanhyuk's distinctive solo activities. At the end of a journey that wasn't easy, the siblings once again became just the two of them.
Their one-person agency, Cemter of Inspiration, is the first nest [AKMU] has built with their own hands. So this time, too, it is about music.
The song first drawn up from the 'Cemter of Inspiration' meets 'Empathy' again, without a doubt."
— Kim Yoonha (Planning Committee Member of EBS Space Empathy)
AKMU has crossed an ocean of their own and finally dropped anchor.
On April 8th, meet AKMU's 'next' at the closest distance."
