Our Programme Officer for Agricultural Technologies and Innovation Dr. Joshua Okonya @joshuaokonya ,at @ASARECA, was one of the 27 eminent Ugandan scientists recently elected as a fellow of the Uganda National Academy of Sciences (UNAS). This high honour is for his outstanding contribution to the advancement of science in the field of Agricultural Sciences. Dr. Okonya was formally inducted as a distinguished Fellow of @unasuganda on 31 October 2025 during the 2025 Annual Scientific Conference at the Four Points by Sheraton, Kampala. This Fellowship is the highest professional recognition for a research scientist or scholar in Uganda. This esteemed recognition not only signifies the valuable impact of ASARECA’s work in improving #FoodSecurity amidst a changing climate but, more importantly, serves as a covenant for the work yet to be done. We are incredibly grateful for Dr. Okonya’s dedication, hard work, and commitment to scientific inquiry that led to this honour.
