Ahhh, can’t wait! 🥴 Sorghum-sudan grass is one of my least favorite fields to walk, however, this is one of our key wild bird fields, so we must do what we must do. One of the reasons we are spraying out the pigeon grass, even though we like it for cover, is because if/when it snows, it just lays down the grass and the cover is gone. So we try to get the “food” to grow faster than the grass, and if that happens, we just let it go.

@DataRepublican @SKDoubleDub33 It all depends on the bullet design and the powder load. You use different loads and bullets for the animals you hunt.

As I was backing out of the garage, I got a message from my sister-in-law saying we should’ve planned a girls’ night since my brother is gone. So I called her and said, “I’m already in the Camaro. I can come pick you up right now… but I’m in gym shorts, my hair is frizzy, and I’m wearing a sweatshirt.” (Yes, I know it’s 97° out. 😉) “So don’t dress up.” I drove over, picked her up, and we went out for dinner. A couple of things… The sunset on the drive home was absolutely amazing. How have I never heard Secrets by Heart until tonight??!! I love these spur-of-the-moment adventures. 🩷 Sleep well my X friends!

Doing some work on the computer when this guy decides he needs to get a little cocky and make his presence known! I used to be creeped out by them, but after living with hunting dogs, you kind of get used to them. That said… this one is still getting crushed and washed down the sink. TBT 🩷 This is Q2—the third dog in my pinned photo. He was a Golden Retriever/Vizsla cross who came to live with me after my dad passed away and I got Thor. In my opinion, Q2 was the best hunting dog my parents ever owned. And as much as I love Thor… I’ll even admit Q2 was the better hunter. We lost Q2 three years ago, on July 7, 2023🩷

Government vs. Private One side of the fence is our food plot. The other is government (Corps) land. Don’t get me wrong—I don’t mind weeds in a food plot. Actually a great food plot has many…. The key however, is making sure your crop grows faster and taller than the weeds so it doesn’t get overtaken. Funny how that seems to apply to more than just food plots. Seems like just about everything the government touches turns to shit. 🩷 Stay cocky.
