@BradGalli As a young coach I remember taking kids to his QB camp and talking to him. Conversations with him ended with him saying “thank you” or “bless you”. He is on the Mt. Rushmore of Michigan HS Football coaches. Thank you, Coach Fracassa.

The most selfless man. The most incredible coach. The most gifted mentor. Al Fracassa passed away on Sunday morning. The legendary Brother Rice football coach made his mark on thousands of us during his near-century on this earth. He led our teams to state championships, taught us life lessons that extended well beyond the football field, and instilled an invaluable blend of toughness and kindness in his players and students — in a way only Coach Fracassa could. I join the many, many Warriors today crying in our mourning, as we pray for Coach’s family and offer our love and support to his loved ones. A lot of us always said that Coach had a direct line to God. “Need a good forecast for your wedding day? Have Coach call the Big Guy.” “Need extra prayers? Ask God for help… but ask Coach to ask him too.” Well, the most humble servant we’ve all ever known is closer to God than ever before. It’s our job to keep him smiling, knowing that the lessons he left in our hearts live on forever. Thank you, Coach.
