We are excited to announce that @Gemini has received a Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO) license from the @CFTC. This license allows us to act as a clearinghouse for regulated derivatives trading, including prediction markets. This approval follows our approval last December for a Designated Contract Market (DCM) license, which allowed us to launch Gemini Predictions. Now, with our DCO, the predictions that trade on our DCM will soon clear through our DCO. This marks a major milestone in our marketplace expansion. I tried, but couldn’t get it to work. Did KYC to buy some BTC, but when I scanned a QR code to spend on burgers, I got prompted to upload a selfie and drivers license. Not a good time for that with a line behind me 🫠 So I paid by card and did the doc uploads while I waited for my food. Went back to the register after I ate to try to buy something small to try again, but I get “Sorry, your withdrawal could not be processed.” FWIW my identity is still being verified, which may take up to 10 business days.

The people I actually feel bad for in the Bilt 2.0 saga are the ones who were floating rent for 30 days on the old card, got used to it, and then Bilt pulled the rug. Oil has looked cyclical at times - especially over short windows. But zoom out and those patterns repeatedly break due to geopolitics, monetary policy, and supply shocks. Same with gold. Same with equities.

The Bitcoin “4-year cycle” narrative is degen astrology 🪐 Markets don’t move on clean calendars - they react to macro, liquidity, policy, and shocks. A cycle is a story we tell after, not a law of nature.
