“I will bless you and make you a blessing.” (Gen 12:2, Heb 6:4) It seems relatively easy for God to bless us, because it depends only on Him. Biblical history tells us that it is harder for God to make us a blessing, because it depends on our willingness to cooperate with Him.

But there is one reality nobody talks about. When you send 65 people, there are a bunch of their less committed friends that don’t go with them, and just stop going to church altogether because they miss their friends.

I sat with a multiplying church’s lead team recently. I asked the newest church leader, “How many people were sent with you for your plant?” He said, “About 65.” I asked the leader of the sending church.”How many did you send? “ He replied, “About 100.”

When I inquired if they were part of a small group, all said they had stopped being part of a small group in the past 3 years. They said the Sunday gathering no longer felt like family. I empathize. 3/5
