The facts are if you have recovered from covid you have an immunity, an immunity that is likely much better than a vaccine. Let's use it for those who have not yet had covid and are in the vulnerable population & care givers.

Those who have had COVID19 are encouraged to get the vaccine. So how long should you wait? AB Health says there is no mandatory waiting period between having COVID19 and getting immunized. The recommendation is to wait until you're no longer infectious and have recovered.

@Alberta411 Speaking as an Athiest myself... If someone believes that there is some otherworldly force that they can aspire to in some way and it helps them be a better person. Who am I to judge? It's their choice. Same idea as "My body my choice". As long as they are not infringing on me.

Are you protecting your eyes too? I bet you're not. All a mask is doing is making you breathe harder and expelling or inhaling more virus.

"doesn't need droplets" do you think a magic force is carrying the covid? its very very small droplets of liquid it lingers on. 1 single mask does prevent covid from spreading to others, 100% prevention? no, but WAY HIGHER then without.

1/ Yesterday a protestor was arrested for shouting racial insults at a First Nations woman on Enoch Reserve. Dozens of protestors also trespassed on reserve land, & Chief Morin’s car was vandalized. Today protestors at the Legislature called for Dr. Hinshaw to be “locked up.”

Many Albertans are rightfully concerned about the extraordinary powers of the government during emergencies. Today we are keeping this promise to remove the power of the government to force vaccinations that has existed in the Public Health Act since 1910.

@JadenGhoul @jkenney More people die every year from Alcohol, Tabaco and Drug related deaths than did having Covid in their system when they died. We have retail stores dedicated to selling these products that are exempt from any lockdown. We don't shut down anything for them.

@FrankieSaysNews @jkenney Never would work. We can't get enough shots. Can't get everyone who wants one. Lack the infrastructure. Lockdown would need to be 28 days min. Not enough food or resources for that. Only takes one resistant variant from 1 person crossing the border to start it all over again.

@jkenney We should have done a hard shutdown that coincided with a major vaccine rollout. We would be done with this mess come summer. Too bad our leaders don't have the balls to do what we actually need.

@bkeasfa @StevenRay01 @chadcgmoberg @jkenney Covid is aerosolized. It's airborn. Doesn't need droplets anymore. It can live suspended in the air for an avg of 3 hours. It's small enough to sail right through the blue masks and cloth ones most people wear. You need 12-16 layer mask to see any reduction (from the WHO)

That means almost 50% will have some form of protection from Covid. With in a year there will likely be variants that the shot wont help against. So then what?

@sorcat44 @Truth_Hurts_But @LeiGry @jkenney Herd immunity is 65-70%. Reading that under 20 covid is a-symptomatic and several studies show they may not even become contagious. (excluding those with serious illness/conditions) 0.0003% survivability rate in that demo (1.3M pop). 300K+ have had the shot or already recovered.

@rosepoptosis @jkenney Everywhere I go people are wearing masks. 95% would be low, I'm being generous. I can't speak for other places which is why I lowered my own estimation to 95%. Regardless the vast majority of people are following the measures. If they worked cases would go down not up.

Trying to figure out the SSL issue on the website. There is nothing asking for any information that would make the page unsafe. Even the fields you can enter on the home page don't work yet. I'm just using a template and converting it.

We're likely almost at heard immunity anyway in total recoveries and suspected cases before testing even started. You're free to get the shot or wear a mask.

@germanconpalta @jkenney We had 1 stay at home order last year. We've had 3 lockdowns, but this last one is really just an order to Close Restaurants and gyms. Salons are exempt because the Government lost a case to one in Innisfail over the last lockdown. I would agree they have generally been weak.

@Truth_Hurts_But @LeiGry @jkenney The media is calling it a lock down. Even a 30 day absolute stay at home lockdown order wouldn't stop covid. We can't prevent anyone coming into the province so it only takes 1 person to reignite it. That's what we need to accept. At this point everyone will get it at some point

@SPhillipsAB @albertaNDP @RachelNotley For those under 55 with no serious health issues Covid's numbers are on par with a bad flu season. The younger you are the less likely you will have any serious health issues or deaths.

I was in the chamber the day Kenney called covid “influenza,” and I remember looking over at @RachelNotley and saying, “uh...did he just...call covid...influenza?!?!” I could not believe my ears. I don’t know why he lies about things that are right there in Hansard. #ableg

@LeiGry @jkenney It's just another half measure that is doing more harm that good. More business going out of business, more bankruptcies and likely suicides'. Mask's don't work. They give a false sense of security which is why cases rose rapidly after the mask mandates.
