Bitcoin miners often sell below cost because monthly power bills force their hand — electricity is 60-80% of costs. Now if those bills came once a year instead, they'd face far less pressure to sell and could HODL through volatility. Some mining companies use debt (loans, credit lines, financing) to bridge the gap — borrowing to avoid fire-selling BTC every 30 days and hold for better prices. It's risky: interest piles up, and if BTC doesn't rally, it can lead to distress or defaults. But it lets stronger players play the long game. Mining isn't just energy arbitrage — it's a brutal cash-flow and capital structure game. Monthly bills create relentless selling pressure. Smart financing helps serious miners think longer-term.
