@HPace35 @SleeperDbacks The best time to trade him would have been before this season, when he didn’t have the NTC. At this point, if AZ is bad enough to want to move him, that probably means Marte isn’t playing well and his trade value will be 💩 compared to what it was in the offseason.

If anyone told us in March that he would be 9/10 in saves, with most coming in 1 run games, we’d sign up for that in a heartbeat.

@alec_xi @MrAzSports There’s a trend here that can’t be ignored. If you leave 91mph over the plate throughout the course of the season, the hitters will mash. BB9 also trending up. Sewald is an avg middle RP. He’s not the long term solution at closer. 2023: 3.57 2024: 4.31 2025: 4.58 2026: 4.70

What should we make of Paul Sewald this season? He’s converted 9 of 10 save opportunities pretty interesting when you look at the overall numbers.

@MrAzSports I do think they should consider moving Morillo into the closers role, but I figure they’ll keep using him to get the most important outs pre-9th inning for now until Puk and/or Martinez come back to reclaim the closer role.

@MrAzSports His ERA was 3.07 going into this game. He’s been excellent overall, especially in save situations. He was due for a bad game at some point, and he’ll likely regress over the course of the season, but I don’t think you can call his season to date anything but a success.

@dbacksprospectz I really like Logan Reddemann if they do wind up going with a pitcher in R1, but Hazen’s track record indicates it will almost certainly be an “up the middle” position player. Eric Booth is another personal favorite if he’s available.

As of this morning still ongoing discussions about trading Alek Thomas with some interest. I would put the odds at 50-50 on a trade. IF and that is IF they are able to move him most likely a player coming back not cash considerations. If they can not he would go on waivers

@MEnrique6969 @Gambo987 He’s worse than all of their current relievers by a pretty wide margin. Being a lefty doesn’t automatically make him an upgrade.

@BlackSwanNews17 @Gambo987 Lefty reliever isn’t as big of a need as you think. Garcia has looked very good so far, and Puk is expected back next month. They also have Abner who is a decent depth piece. I don’t think trading AT will get them anyone that’s a clear upgrade over their current bullpen group.
