#Dbacks Spring Notes (3/19/26): - Michael Soroka had 5 fantastic innings of work, striking out 8! - Jonathan Loáisiga hit 99.6 mph. His curveball had a 118 Stuff+, per @TJStats - Jorge Barrosa goes 2/3 with a double and a walk - Jacob Amaya had a 2/3 day with a walk

Michael Soroka looked fantastic today: 5 IP | 1 H | 0 R | 1 BB | 8 K All of his pitches looked great, as he was able to generate plenty of weak contact! He will be the #Dbacks #5 starter to begin the season.

@DbacksStatsInfo @Gambo987 I have a feeling this would be on the waiver wire. Trades seem pretty unlikely at this point in spring, and any pitcher signings would not be good (unless it's Kopech).

Also via @Gambo987 (not reporting) but with a comment, don’t be surprised if the #Dbacks add a bullpen arm before the start of the regular season (which is a week from today).

Really excited to see what Sawyer Hawks brings in the #Dbacks Spring Breakout game. Hawks uses a mid-90s fastball with a ton of ride from his high slot. It pairs with a great low-80s slider and a strong low-80s changeup. There's a curveball, too. He also has a ton of extension!

A name I'd keep an eye on in Saturday's #Dbacks Spring Breakout game is Sandro Santana. Between the complex and the @VisaliaRawhide, he pitched to a 2.73 ERA. A sidearm southpaw, Santana works a 93-95 mph heater alongside a sharp slider. He generates plenty of poor contact!

I felt that my previous post was a hasty generalization of a swing changes by Carroll and hasn't been seriously backed up by any reporting. I apologize for the mistake.

@abalkinthepark I believe there was discussion about him copying some of Shohei's swing last year.

@dbacksprospectz Is this your own observation or has this been talked about before by him or the team? Just curious if he is actually intending to copy these guys

@_derickgarcia44 Going based off of the audio right now. Apparently he swung, appeared to be wincing, and walked towards the dugout. Trainer & Torey checked him, then he left the game
