@wordsofthislife “And the Spirit and the bride say, Come.” (Revelation 22:17) The Spirit says come. The bride says come. It should be so of every believer. We are indeed in a sad state if we cannot say from the bottom of our hearts, “Amen; come, Lord Jesus.” (Revelation 22:20).

@_P3te_Belcher Among the first books I read when I was learning English. It was a rough read for me. 😂 But there is much good to meditate on.

Father, Thy love our portion is, Thou gav’st us to Thy Son, For Thine own glory and for His, Made like that blessed One. In that bright scene of cloudless light, Where sons at home shall be, With Him we’ll share that glory bright, And all His beauty see.

It is not a minor point that the Epistle to the Hebrews uses the Tabernacle as the typology or pattern of the things in the heavens rather than the Temple. These Christians were passing through much trial and being tested. The Tabernacle shows our connection with the heavenly things though still passing through the wilderness of the world. The Temple typifies the time of glory when God’s people will be at rest and the heavenly things will be on display and rule upon the earth.

@wordsofthislife Do you think it also has anything to do with the fact that the Lord gave instructions to build the Tabernacle but merely allowed them to build the Temple? He even said that he never asked for a permanent home to replace his moveable one.

Postmillennialists look at the state of the world and say, "Nothing to see here, just a little dip, the trajectory is upward" -- a better eschatology would inform them that this whole age is a "dip" and the trajectory will only be up once Christ returns.

If anyone is in Christ he is a new creation. 2 Cor. 5:17 This is our standing not our state. WK says on this: “On the other hand, it is no question of mere experience, which would reduce the language miserably. It is faith judging and speaking according to Christ, in whom the believer is. Thus new creation has all its scope. But it is of all moment to be ever measuring and forming experience by faith, and not to lower faith by experience.” William Kelly.
