@BaseballValues Awesome, thanks for the reply. I noticed the other day FanGraphs updated their Cubs system rankings, so I'm curious to see how that will impact your side of things.
Love what you all do - always fun to tinker around the site and see how trades line up.
English

@alexNamePending Next update is tomorrow. We do it weekly, but for prospects, the numbers are dependent on when public sources do their updates.
English

@BaseballValues how often does your system make updates? With the Cubs, for example, I'm seeing guys like Pedro Ramirez and Owen Ayers who still show similar future value to Ed Howard...
English

@brendan_cubs So unlucky it’s happening, but to be winning amidst it kinda makes you feel like the team will be unstoppable once they start getting healthy. They can win 10 in a row with this group?? What happens when the GUYS are back?!
English

The Cubs have 18 pitchers on the injured list between the MLB and AAA levels. (And still have won 10 in a row)
Greg Huss@OutOfTheVines
Thanks to 9 pitchers on the MLB IL and 9 pitchers on the Triple-A IL, the Iowa Cubs have only ONE traditional starting pitcher on their entire roster: Connor Noland.
English

@OutOfTheVines Kinda amped about the offensive potential in South Bend. If some things click right, that could be a really fun group.
English

@BleacherNation Loved that discussion with my kids too. My daughter would ask, why don’t you play for the Cubs? Like it was only my choice that kept it from happening.
English

For those who are into the #DiveForFive, this series against the Rockies is a particularly tough one. For as middling as you might think the Rockies have become, they remain the worst team in baseball on the road, winning just 24% of the time. Dropping 2/3 might be impossible.
English

@barenakedladies Trick question, they’re all equally great! It’s perfect from start to finish.
English

@DerekWClem Definitely have to define what "perfect" means. Does its job? Elicits emotion? Acting, directing, writing, cinematography? Wonderful Life, for me, is perfect for its purpose. Just nailed it. Boogie Nights is in the craft. It's Shakespearean but about porn. Who pulls that off??
English

@alexNamePending I like your It’s a Wonder Life pick. I feel like the whole “Potter never getting his” criticism to be weak, and one of the things that makes the movie special.
Also I’m inspired to rewatch Boogie Nights.

- North by Northwest (1959)
- Boogie Nights (1997)
- Dazed and Confused (1993)
- It's a Wonderful Life (1946)
- The Social Network (2010)

@DerekWClem Saw a lot of people with BTTF on these lists - surprised you didn't include it. But many sacrifices have to be made on lists like this. I had Eternal Sunshine on my shortlist. Alien is an inspired choice. I dig it.
English

@alexNamePending Effort went into avoiding nostalgia. A list always flux, so I’m at ease with the risk of it being too contemporary -
Akira
Alien
Eternal Sunshine .... Spotless Mind
Melancholia

@benjstylzzz @Porter_JDP @MEdwardCanter @Cubs Keep in mind, the real Mount Rushmore isn't depicting the four best presidents ever. It's four who had a really notable achievement. Sosa actually makes sense for THE HR prowess in the late-90s. That's an achievement worth recognition. If you're ok with the steroid stuff.
English

Who makes your all-time @Cubs Mt. Rushmore? I'm choosing Ernie Banks, Billy Williams, Kerry Wood, and Anthony Rizzo.
English

@MatthewBerryTMR That was almost me too - was just thankful for that screen to Zeke a few plays before!

Friend of mine was up 1.6 but with Dak. He just lost by .4 on that Dak Hail Mary INT. Brutal. #FantasyLife

@DerekWClem @AndrewYang His campaign deserves a deeper look. I'm glad we have a legitimate candidate talking about UBI. We might not be quite ready for it yet, but it's coming and we need to start having those conversations. @AndrewYang
English

@AndrewYang I appreciate your conciseness. When they say “in a few words” you use a few words. It’s refreshing. I’ll be giving your campaign a deeper look.

@ltblaize I'm with you in theory, but most sports define spaces players can/can't occupy (basketball restricted circle, blue line in hockey), so I don't have a problem with them saying IF on dirt, OF on grass. From there, I don't care where they stand, but that seems a fair distinction.
English

@johnlevenstein I feel like I can make an argument that the women of SNL are so talented that they're the best choices to play these people. Period. Maybe they're not trying to joke about a woman playing a man, you're just reading that. I'm glad that they're good enough actors to play any role.
English

Yes, SNL has been trying to get under Trump’s skin since they had women play men in his administration, which also lacks a point-of-view.
Kevin@Kevqtall
@johnlevenstein This really feels like SNL is trying to do some psy-ops shit and try to figure out what will piss Trump off instead of actually trying to be funny.
