If we get to early May and Hosmer is starting every day at first with a wRC+ of 35 while Mervis is in Iowa sporting a 206, then I’ll agree the Cubs have a problem at first. But that problem still won’t be the Mancini signing.

I’m sorry, but this is a TERRIBLE reason to not move on from Hosmer. It’s incredibly easy to find replacement-level 1B depth and the Cubs have a decent number of it already in the organization.
