James Baldwin: "You always told me it takes time. It’s taken my father’s time, my mother’s time. my uncle’s time, my brother’s and my sister’s time. My niece’s and my nephew’s time. How much time do you want, for your progress?"

i have lost any and all respect for your silence at this point. if you can remain a silent spectator while this kind of evil is amidst. i don’t care if you don’t use social media, don’t care for platforms, rarely speak out in public… If you have been made aware of this horror…

"Ecology does not end at the border of our property, the national border of a country, or the border of the body's skin. Ecology is multidimensional and universal. We each affect the entire global ecology and the world in turn, affects us. There is no separation." Tasfir of Yasin

if the artists you are lifting up right now refuse to acknowledge or speak up on the genocides taking place why do you continue to support them? I dont understand. why are we praising whose on top of country music charts of a country that is currently committing genocide?

Health is structural more than it is individual bc our structures deeply inform our choices, realities, livelihoods & longings both individually & communally. Towards life-affirming infrastructures as public/collective health-against oppression which is anti-life & living worlds

Movies about the future are more likely 2b about an apocalypse than a new society where ppl dont worry about rent/bills, & have the access 2food, health care & education they need Why? Cuz most movies present capitalism as already being that way. Hard 2 show the difference

I often think of Francis Weller's 'Wild Edge of Sorrow', when he says 'what if the hollowness we feel, is the prolonged absence of bird song?' What this means as diasporic & dispossessed ppls to lose our native music of place, it to be replaced with things like sirens and sighs.

There are going to be times when we just don’t have any answers to messy relationship endings. We have so many contracts to meet people and sometimes they choose not to grow and rise to the occasion. Release the contract. Put it in the fire and let it transmute.

This is why the IDF is killing any journalist that flies a drone over Gaza, they don’t want the world to witness the sheer scale of the genocide…🇵🇸💔

Land back also means the fertility of the land, a total divestment from everything as it is. Land in her aliveness is incompatible with capitalism. It means practicing a different relational politics to all life, time, space, predictability etc to cultivate & sustain wholeness

NPR reported that Israel says these people were arrested, stripped of their clothes & forced to kneel for long periods in the cold winter, simply because they refused or were unable to abandon their homes & flee to south #Gaza, thats their crime: refusing to be forcibly displaced
Omar Shakir@OmarSShakir

The Israeli army's publication of shocking photos of detained Palestinian men in Gaza stripped & blindfolded constitutes "outrages upon personal dignity"—a form of inhumane treatment that amounts to a war crime. Perpetrators should be held to account. @hrw

people keep asking me about israel's plan to "flood the tunnels with seawater" and/or pump saltwater into the soil in the Gaza Strip to render it uninhabitable. The latter is plausible, but also needs a bit more context. let's talk about the gaza aquifer. a quick thread 🧵:
