@tonydindy Catch fences protect people outside the track from being hit by debris or a car. No need for a catch fence there because there’s nothing to protect, it’s an empty race track.

Why is there no catch fence at the exit of 4? I know it’s a long shot they hit, but if you spin, bounce off the wall, you could go right through this safer wall. @IMS

@Bryan_Driver @thanos876 I won’t post it because I don’t have the rights from FOM to do so, but you can find it easily. F1 posted it multiple times: - “All the angles” of this incident on their website - “Top 10 Onboard” of this event on both their website & YouTube - Palmer’s Analysis on F1 TV - …

"That's all about letting them race" Interlagos 2021 After starting the Sprint in dead last and Sunday's race in P10, Lewis Hamilton had already made up 8 places as he took on his world championship rival, Max Verstappen, for the lead. After chipping away at his advantage Lap 48 saw the big move. Chasing the Red Bull down the Reta Oposta, he attempted to dance his black Mercedes around the outside at the Descida do Lago. Max defended with all his lack of finesse and, once again, sent both of them off track, keeping his position in the process. The political war between the garages erupted instantly, as both sides argued their case for or against a penalty. Red Bull's Jonathan Wheatley infamously claimed: "Michael, that's all about letting them race", while Mercedes argued he gained a lasting advantage by pushing Lewis off. Upon review, Max was let off without punishment by the stewards, not for the first time that season. When informed of the decision, Lewis Hamilton sarcastically exclaimed: "Of course, man". Martin Brundle ominously proclaimed that Max now knew that he could just do it again. The tension during the next laps was more than palpable. An unprecedented title fight was reaching its climax. In the end, quality prevailed as Lewis teed up his young rival through the Senna Esses, giving him no chance down the following straight and, under the roar of a São Paulo home crowd, Lewis took what he'd later call his "most special victory to date". Ironically it was the standard set by the FIA on that very day which would come back to bite Red Bull in the Abu Dhabi Finale.

@andrewje_home Nothing to do with anyone’s ego. Either it’s by lack of knowledge or by being blinded by hate, you simply don’t understand the social media game. About the picture you posted, it’s just impossible to recover when you’re being punted by an elite sore loser.

When you are conducting an event in the United States, you should sing the American National Anthem prior to the event, that's it. The fact that we are conducting the Canadian National Anthem prior to a race is ridiculous. I have nothing against Canada or Canadian people, at all, but I doubt they or anyone would appreciate the US National Anthem being sung in their country prior to an event. And btw, they should have a problem with that. It's just wrong all around. You are basically planting your flag in another country. @NASCAR @WGI

Increasing the amount of power from the ICE and dialling back the electrical power is the right way to go. Really pleased that these changes will happen from next year. #F1 the-race.com/formula-1/f1-a…

@there_is_no_if Maybe Juan is still bitter that Red Bull dropped his son from their junior program instead of giving him a direct seat in F1, like they did for Max, and/or ⬇️

Did Max refuse a selfie with Montoya or accidentally reject his call? Because what's with all those ridiculous statements Pablo's been serving over the past week or so? There's not being a fan and then there's whatever this is.

@RobLMyers You know, there’s a penalty points system for that and the FIA never deducted a point from Max’ tally to spare him from a race ban like they did for another driver before.

A race ban for Verstappen for whining about the new regs is a bit extreme… …a race ban for the ongoing, unpunished, dirty driving over several years would be very well deserved, though. #F1 motorsport.com/f1/news/park-h…

@thanos876 @Ranchdingus @BaxtyB His brake pedal still works, but the power behind it was significantly less. The 2 front brake discs alone aren’t enough to stop the car on such a short distance. With the failure he had, the connexion between the pedal and the rear axle (BBW, MGU-K, engine braking) was lost.

@there_is_no_if The closest car behind Max at the start of the final lap (so prior to Charles’ spin) was Lewis, with a gap of 9 seconds. So, if Charles kept 3rd, Max would have crossed the line 6th and be classified, after penalty, … 6th. 🙄

FIA must've not believed their luck with that Charles' final lap crash, as it allowed them awarding Max with a penalty without changing his finishing position.

@RobLMyers No clear picture available during the race, so they wait for when more is available. For example, Max’ onboard: The front-facing T-cam was the one on at that moment and it isn’t clear if he’s good or not. It’s only after the race that the rear-facing T-cam become available.
