Minnie oats.
Doesn't seam too mini to me. Absolutely powering away. I recon it pushed up 100mm this week. The third node is now visible. 🤞🤞 for a kind spring, 🙏🙏 for some good finishing rains, and then call the bank manager💰💰.

Oats at its' ideal sowing window, Esperance port zone. Strips at Grass Patch sown 13th April, spring wheat badly frosted, winter wheat just flowering vs #Oats basically untouched by frost or heat, Goldie harvest late October. Highlight crop diversity as frost mitigation tool

It was an honour to launch AH wheat Dale in Hyden at the Holt Rock Field Day on Wednesday. Dale is named after former Hyden farmer and inaugural InterGrain chairman Dale Baker. It was wonderful to be joined by local farmers and members of Dale’s family to celebrate this exciting variety. For more information on Dale wheat, follow the link tinyurl.com/2xtbu6mk

Oat phenology 🌱
We're running an experiment to help understand:
- how early can we sow oats to minimise risk
- if the critical period for spring oats is different to wheat & barley
- simulating grazing to understand the impact on phenology & biomass @AllanRattey

Northern WA Territory Manager @richiemarsland helping to seed an oat demo trial at Mingenew, WA. This demo will put Goldie, Minnie, Kultarr, Wallaby, Archer & Bannister to the test. Thanks to Smyth Agri services & Moss Ag for their help.

Oats are Just Right for early sowing into deep moisture. No rain in sight, @Christo58521242 put #Oat seed down fert tube ~2 weeks ago near Wagga. Happy days!!! Initial research with CSIRO + DPIRD for WA sand, but works in soil East Coast too 😁

To help answer "how early" too sow #Oats in WA, we've got pots outside vs winter wheat. TOS1; 20 days ago, Goldie has 3rd tiller; Illabo wheat still main tiller only. TOS2 just up. With good rain in Sth WA, sow now for optimum hay for Wallaby

Spring #Oats vs. winter wheat!! How early we can safely sow oats in WA to take advantage of improved floreat frost here? Note lower stem frost risk in WA vs. East Coast and hopefully give more farming systems options. #phenologyisfun

While most of the @InterGrain1 crew were at Oatspo this Tuesday, I was a few hundred kms away talking about oats (& barley) at the @SEPWA_ag Condingup Beaumont field day. It was great to check out the first oat trials in the region for quite some time. An exciting opportunity!

Last week Territory Manager @RehnFreebairn presented an oat breeding update at AFIA's National Fodder Conference. Rehn touched on a number of topics including the technology used to assess new varieties and their paddock performance to help select the next suite of oaten hay varieties. @AusFodder

Sowing deep & early to chase moisture was the main topic of discussion at the @CFIG_AG Oat Agronomy & Deep Seeding field walk yesterday. Oat Breeder @AllanRattey spoke about the the great fit that oats have in this space & their ability to emerge from depth to get going early.

English

The @InterGrain1 oats team had a great day out yesterday at our deep sown oats trial near Corrigin. Goldie and our next variety to be released (15010-09) showing great biomass from depth.
Thanks to @CFIG_AG for hosting the field day.

It has been at least 6 weeks since wet seeding or a germinating rain at several more of my trial sites. Oats-only sown by @kalyx_australia: Corrigin & Narrogin (POP funded with @InterGrain1). Barley + oats sown by @DPIRDbroadacre: Greenhills & Popanyinning (DPIRD & POP funded).
