Can you train a generative model using only noisy data? If you can, this would alleviate the issue of training data memorization plaguing certain genAI models. In exciting work with @giannis_daras and @AlexGDimakis we show how to do this for diffusion-based generative models.

Consistent Diffusion Meets Tweedie. Our latest paper introduces an exact framework to train/finetune diffusion models like Stable Diffusion XL solely with noisy data. A year's worth of work breakthrough in reducing memorization and its implications on copyright 🧵

As in the dir listing, the Go exe comes in at ~100x for default and ~80 times larger than the c++ even when using ldflags "-w". That is very poor optimization in Go. FFS! ( #ethereum p2p client ?!!)

Comparing exe size, in the go language with c++. In both cases, same fn, one in Go and one in C++. First, standard Go build used, then the option ldflags "-w", strips the debug we can strip the debug information from the Go compiled exe.

There we can some of the go-lang memory management code. This is the reason for the code apparent code bloat seen in go. Remember this represents the "real" final generated code, not the high level language expression with syntax sugar !

Of course, this is interesting because the main ethereum network client is written in go! Interesting language because it includes built in memory management but I wouldn't use it for anything serious.

For the same essentially the program in C++ and go, I took a peek at what the end product object code is. Both are just a loop test which should optimize out. However only gcc object code is! ... For the other I took a peak at the go-lang generated code which was not.

The Data General Eclipse was a popular line of 16-bit minicomputers released in 1974. These were large systems as the S/280 photo shows. The 32-bit Eclipse MV/8000 (1980) was the subject of the Pulitzer prize-winning book "The Soul of a New Machine". 1/10

Sixty years ago today, IBM announced the System/360, a line of computers that took over the computer industry. The big idea was that all the systems were compatible and supported all applications (a 360° range from business to scientific). 1/9

The IBM 1401 was the most popular computer of the early 1960s, with over 10,000 built. Renting for $2500 a month, it made a computer affordable to medium-sized businesses. You can see one in operation @ComputerHistory. But what if the computer suddenly stops turning on? 1/10
