Step 01: Why does an app icon matter so much?
Before changing our app icon, we were getting around 3k-5k downloads per month.
Our original “GO” icon felt personal and meaningful to us. We loved it. Still, we decided to test a new icon featuring a shoe 👟
Since making that change, downloads have increased to 15k-20k per month.
The lesson: When designing an app icon, focus on what resonates with users, not just what you personally like as a designer.
Users don’t see the story behind your design. They make a split-second decision based on what they immediately understand.
Step 02: Keep it simple.
In the next build, we’re making it even easier to get to your dashboard right after downloading @goclub_app We’re also restructuring in-app content, redesigning and organising key stats more thoughtfully, and experimenting with a new pricing model.
The guiding principle is simple: Keep it simple.
Our goal is ambitious but clear: reach $100k MRR within the next 6-8 months.
