I saw a girl reject a guy most harshly.
He approached her at a small gathering, visibly nervous, and said, "I’ve liked you for a while; I just wanted to be honest.”
She didn’t even hesitate. "I can’t date you.”
He nodded. “That’s fine, I understand.”
But she continued loudly enough for others to hear: "You’re too broke for me.”
The room fell silent.
He forced a smile and said, “Okay,” then walked away.
People started whispering. Some laughed. Some looked uncomfortable.
Fast forward two hours.
The same girl was crying outside.
Apparently, her phone had died, her ride had been cancelled, and she had no cash on her.
Guess who came back?
The same guy.
He didn’t say, “I told you so."
Didn’t bring up what she said.
He simply asked, “Where are you going?”
She told him.
He paid for her ride.
Before she got in, she asked, “After everything I said, why would you help me?”
He shrugged and said, "Because that’s who I am, not who you think I am.”
Some people try to prove a point.
Others just live it.

Now, let’s look at it from the girl’s perspective…she’s been with him for five years, and they’ve been living together for who knows how long, yet he still hasn’t married her. At some point, she might start feeling like he’s not serious about her, which could be why she’s entertaining other guys.
If we’re being honest, five years is more than enough time to decide if you want to wife someone up.
