@evilclydefrogg @web3queen__ bc they change & switch roles regularly dear Shawn. Sometimes FO gets PF role which is Pilot Flying, while main Captain gets PM which is Pilot Monitoring. And they do switch that in flight to another flight. You are welcome.

@StreamWithMeld Yeah, but that's largely due to the lack of 3rd party plugin support. OBS without plugins is pretty stable, too! (And, well, some streams actually need that)

@Suppressor @HensDBD Those recording settings are awful and are in no way better than CQP. Stick with CQP at whatever level gives you the quality that you want, and call it a day.

@HensDBD Do you think these recording settings are better than CQP? And I’ve personally found that H.264 is much smoother when editing in Vegas as compared to HEVC

Here are optimized settings for Livestreaming/Recording for OBS that are optimal for gaming content Keep in mind you need to tick the "ignore recommended settings" button to go higher than 6k bitrate on twitch but anyone (even non-affiliates) can stream on 8k bitrate

@ZerWolff @kommanderkarl The problems with Windows haven't been because of AI. You can make poor design choices and practice poor engineering with any tooling.

@kommanderkarl I can live with art being pressed, i even support the collapse of big music but we are literally facing software collapse. Look at windows11 with their 30% AI code barely working, running like shit and having major faults every other day. THEY ACCIDENTALLY DELETED THE C DRIVE!

I'm honestly sick of the AI debate, it's really simple guys: Yes, AI is a tool. But it is one with abilities that the word "tool" itself is underserving. AI is only getting more capable of producing high caliber compositions. That said, it doesn't matter how good the output is if the person prompting it has no taste, no eye, and no understanding of *why* something works. The same was true of Photoshop. The same was true of 3D rendering. The same was true of every tool that scared artists when it first showed up. The difference between slop and art has never been the tool--it's the fucking intent and the understanding behind it. Stop arguing about whether AI is "real art" and start asking whether the person using it actually knows what they're doing. Start asking if that person can do the task they're prompting themselves without shiny fancy tools first. That's always been the only question that mattered.

Do you think it's wrong to use ai to show an artist a reference for something that you want to commission them and pay them for? I generally am curious of this. example- I want this type of pose but I can only find anime ai art for ref.. Is it wrong to use that as ref ??

@b_o_f_h_ @davepl1968 rsync will also absolutely *wreck* your windows filesystem permissions (sometimes in ways almost impossible to fix) for incoming files if you run it on windows to transfer files from a remote host.

@davepl1968 1) Rclone does NOT have restart mid way 2) rclone doesn't have mid way corruption fixes a) rsync doesn't have multiple fetches (only for loads of small files) i) there is HPN-ssh to assist in getting faster rsync over ssh (read no-encryption option) don't forget parallels ;)

Just say no to rsync... rclone is your friend!

@svpino Having better test cases is good, though, right? Being able to refactor arbitrarily large chunks of code without worrying about exploding stuff has always kinda felt like a superpower to me.

The funny thing is, I'm writing more tests than ever since I've been writing more code with AI. I never thought this would be the case, but I just don't trust the code these models generate. Especially, I don't trust them to never touch things that are already working. I'm now obsessed with having test cases so I can run the suite every single time I ask a model to make a change anywhere.

@gabbisoong Like, seriously, tell me where to insert the money. Over the decades I've collected 20k+ fonts, and trying to zero in on the specific thing I want for any given use continues to be a misery-inducing pain in my ass.

i built arcoty.pe to solve this issue!! arcotype sorts all of the 2000+ fonts on google fonts for the first time by visual similarity + vibe tagging for easier browsing & searching no more defaulting to inter anymore haha

@foolishmortalsx It feels like some people would rather destroy a dozen working artists "just in case" rather than accidentally allowing even a single piece of "AI art" to go potentially unchallenged.

@foolishmortalsx I haaaate this about the current AI discourse -- real, working artists needing to spend their time (in your case, a *lot* of time, it seems) defending themselves (somehow) against "this is AI, trust me bro".

Could I get some support from fellow devs and creatives? We got a negative review on Steam for AI use... despite there being absolutely *no* AI use in our game. TL;DR? Give a chance to show that AI wasn't used, or you'll be harming the very same artists you claim to be helping.❤️

@FayeFlix I notice that the more rabid wings of the anti-AI crowd would rather falsely accuse 100 artists of using AI, if it means not accidentally allowing one piece of AI art get through. And then they congratulate themselves on how well they "protected" real artists. :/

Just ditched my fucking ass. With the bullshit exuse of "You are better off without me" I want you all to know, that excuse is absolute fucking jack shit. Because I am worse than anyone else I know, and for those I care for I do better. Never pulled the "I'm leaving because you deserve better card". I just became what they deserved, I did better. So to anyone out there who is abandoning you saying you deserve better. It's jack shit. They either just want you to run after them and take the blame off them, or are too cowardly to tell you to your face why they're tired of you. Either that or they just cba actually improving for you, they don't want to improve they just want to be who they are and you gotta deal with it or else they threaten to leave. They're looking for any tiny excuse to create an issue so that they can run away. Someone who genuinely feels like they don't deserve you, would try to be better for you. Not fucking abandon you knowing you have nobody else. They don't even give you a chance to explain anything or talk it out. Just give you a resign notice while you're asleep and run with their tail between their legs like cowards. That's not a friend. That's a rat.
