seeing middle class white people in LA talking about how they want spencer pratt bc things are SO bad that they’ll try anything new… like, how are things THAT bad for you 😹 truly. is it that you don’t like seeing homeless people on your way to work? imagine how much it sucks for THEM. when i look at this city i see problems with an over bloated police force that passes their liability for their bad behavior onto taxpayers, rising cost of living that leads to homelessness, & ICE terrorizing human beings in a place that’s supposed to be a sanctuary city. i’m truly curious what spencer pratt voters see.

Remember this: the Imperial need for control is so desperate because it is so unnatural. Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear.

I am honored to have the endorsement of the Catch Fire Movement (@catchfiremvmt) - an organization dedicated to supporting progressive leaders who advance human and labor rights running for public office.  They are committed to building democracy from the bottom up by activating non-voters to vote in the primaries, running progressive campaigns and coalitions and standing by grassroots candidates like myself that are not backed by wealth and institutions.  Check out @catchfiremvmt and help them find and support progressive candidates get on the ballots.

As the June 2nd primary draws near, I am disturbed by the growing call to vote for the more “viable” candidates, even when they don’t align with our vision and values. I will never vote for genocide or police violence. My latest in @thelasentinel. #Vote lasentinel.net/vote-your-visi…

Voting should be about bringing this city hope and standing with moral courage to build the future we want together. Elections should inspire participation, not cynicism. A vote for Rae is choosing a vision rooted in community and integrity. We refuse to uphold the status quo out of fear, the people are more powerful than the establishment thinks we are. Los Angeles, it’s time for a change. Only YOU have the power to determine what the change is. Vote by June 2nd for a Mayor who will fight for you consistently. Visit raeforla.com for more.

welcome to our trash revolution
it really cannot be overstated how much the democratic establishment Does Not Care. they’re not stupid, they can read polls like everyone else. they know a left message wins. the problem is they would rather lose to fascism than do what’s right and give us what we want.
trash jones@jzux

hey Democratic Party did you notice that if you stick to your values and listen to the people and stop pandering to centrists, you might be able to create meaningful change and pull our country back from the brink of fascist turmoil?

This is why we need a 95% wealth tax. Let these guys have a Porsche collection, and a big house somewhere, go on White Lotus type vacations. That's plenty. Anything more than that and wealth becomes destructive across the board. This is not useful or productive.

if you really want someone to vote for a candidate maybe rather than guilting voters you should encourage your prefered candidate to . . . campaign? show up at events? meet with voters? etc?

‼️🚨 NEW ARTISTS FOR RAE ALERT 🚨‼️ Please help us give a warm welcome to the incredibly talented, Mikki! From designing campaign posters for the LA vs. Hate initiative, a community-centered program supporting residents targeted by hate across Los Angeles County, to launching the Koreatown Map Project at Koreatown Times, Mikki’s work is deeply rooted in community and intention. ❤️‍🔥 Their art shines a light on the neighborhoods, strip malls, and small businesses that make Los Angeles feel like home, making their vision a natural reflection of Rae’s commitment to building an Economy for the People. 🫂🔄💰 "Rae is the only candidate addressing the issues our city faces with real details and concrete action plans. She has a track record of getting things done that has brought tangible benefits to everyday people. Her plans and goals she has set for mayor are the most comprehensive and well-thought out strategy to help all Angelenos from the most vulnerable and marginalized--which I don't see any other candidate doing. This is why I support Rae and proudly designed this poster for her campaign." - Mikki 🌞
— Mikki 🌞

@BornToChill Honestly I’m not even saying that Nithya personally was trying to do that. I don’t know her but she seems like a decent person who wants to do good things. I mean the intent of the people who asked her to run after Caruso and Horvath said no.

Very serious political commentators in LA will ridicule and feign such indignation at this notion. Be so for real, in a city with such a rich political ratfuckery history, is it really far fetched to think these type of backroom deals happening? Especially among Democrats?
Alissami@alissami

Nithya’s campaign did exactly what it was intended to do. Block Rae Huang and prevent any real change from happening. Rae Huang was asked by her community to run. Nithya was asked by the people who want to ensure their profits continue.

These are such important questions for our city and would have been very illuminating for voters who are struggling to choose. Tragic that three candidates chose not to participate

Mike Bonin, who leads the Pat Brown Institute that was set to co-host a mayoral debate tonight, shares the questions they were planning to ask the candidates: mikebonin.substack.com/p/voters-deser… The debate got cancelled after Mayor Karen Bass and Council member Nithya Raman withdrew.
