With the end of my maternity leave slowly approaching I’d like to declare that I am open for work! - I have a masters in forensic science. - knowledgeable in both chemical and biological techniques - I am searching for full time roles in the midlands.

Anybody aware of laboratory technician, research technician jobs around midlands? Preferably chemical or pharmaceutical based? The job market is tough right now!

@aliyahroberts_ Oh wow! I hope you are keeping your spirits up. I feel like we should just be handed our degrees just for surviving the lockdowns. Wishful thinking 🙈

I am putting a disclaimer in my PhD that it was written under duress of a global pandemic. Think my examiners will be lenient and just hand me my degree?

To complete my MSci I have to complete three months of placement work, in which I am doing mine within a university. Wonder what this lockdown means for me and my degree??

Coronavirus seems to be hindering my chances of placement opportunities. However, I won’t let it dampen my spirit! I have every hope that something will come my way. Please let it be known I’ll be available for both face-to-face and remote placements.

@aliyahroberts_ Finding placements is difficult with the Police because of all the security checks. Try an NHS hospital in the pathology lab if you're biology directed.

A week has passed since beginning my masters, the blended learning has been interesting, with lecturers still being interactive and engaging. I’m excited to see how well I do this year. I wish all the best for everybody studying and working in the current climate!

@HopleyFay My laptop doesn’t support SPSS. Libraries are closed, I’m self-isolating. How am I supposed to do my dissertation and other assignments like IRCS with no advice, extentsions etc :(
