Caller (Matt): I have three jobs, work more than 12 hours a day, and save about $100,000 a year. Financially we're sound, but I'm not spending enough time with my children, and my health is deteriorating. Dave Ramsey: How much do you have in savings and investments? Caller (Matt): I've been doing this for almost six years. I own four homes, have about $1.3 million in equity, about $350,000 in my 401(k) and IRA, and I just turned 40. I'm starting to wonder if I'm doing the right thing. I want to quit two jobs, but the thought of living paycheck to paycheck terrifies me. Dave Ramsey: Man, you're not living paycheck to paycheck! You're putting $100,000 away! Quitting two jobs is not going to make you paycheck to paycheck. Caller (Matt): If I quit, after I max out my 401(k) and IRA, I'm not going to be saving any money every month. Dave Ramsey: So back off your investing! You've only got $2 million. That's a bogus emotional response. John Delony: Why are you afraid to go sit at home with your family? Caller (Matt): I was part of the FIRE movement, but I'm thinking a lot can happen in the future. Dave Ramsey: The FIRE movement burned down because it wasn't sustainable. What you're doing is not sustainable. You didn't build a life?you built a financial portfolio. Now your brain is waking up and saying, "Go build a life."

@AandGShow I guess bombing a desert country on the other side of the world that controls a large stake in the world's oil supply was a bad idea? Who knew?

Mamdani announces city-run groceries will set prices *30%* below retail. Typical grocery margins are 2%. Meaning: First, the city will lose ungodly amounts of money -- at least 28 cents on the dollar. Second, below-cost stores will steal enough market share that real groceries abandon the city. Third, taxpayers will get tired of the money hole and slash subsidies. At which point city groceries become money holes full of rotting food, so New Yorkers will have to take 2 trains and a bus to find a real grocery store. Socialism will work this time 🙌

49ers assistant head coach and offensive line coach Chris Foerster is expected to assume some of Kyle Shanahan’s head coaching duties and help lead the team.   Shanahan informed his assistant coaches of his accident on Tuesday; other players slowly have been getting the news that the 49ers confirmed today.

San Francisco 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan suffered significant injuries in a car accident during his summer break in mid July that now will leave him limited as the team opens training camp.   Shanahan broke his nose, three ribs, his hand, needed over 40 stiches in his face and suffered a severe concussion during a July 14 car accident when he collided with an SUV near his northern California home, per me and @nwagoner.

I have been briefed on today’s horrifying stabbings on the Upper West Side, where an Asian man and a Jewish man were attacked. According to witness and victim statements, the perpetrator yelled “Allahu Akbar” during both attacks. I am relieved that both victims are in stable condition. The NYPD responded immediately and arrested Raul Morales in connection with both assaults—and I am grateful to the officers for their swift response. The NYPD’s initial investigation suggests that mental health may have been a factor. They are also evaluating these stabbings as potential hate crimes. These hateful and despicable attacks have no place in our city.
Jessica S. Tisch@NYPDPC

This afternoon, two people were stabbed in separate attacks on the Upper West Side. Both victims — an Asian male and a Jewish male — were removed to Mt. Sinai-St. Luke’s Hospital, and both are expected to survive.  The NYPD has arrested 51-year-old Raul Morales in connection with both assaults, and no other people are being sought. Detectives are continuing to work the case and determine motive, but according to victim and witness statements, Morales yelled “Allahu Akbar” during both attacks. The NYPD is currently evaluating whether this is a potential hate crime. While the perpetrator has no known mental health history with the NYPD, the initial investigation suggests that mental health may have been a factor. At this time there is no known link between Morales and either of the victims, nor between the victims and each other. I want to commend the bravery of a good Samaritan who led our officers to the location where the perpetrator was hiding, as well as our NYPD cops who brought an end to the incident without further injuries.

Obviously this little freak could go volunteer to fight the war himself, but of course he won’t. He’s got no interest in making any kind of personal sacrifice. None of them do. Israel’s finance minister bragged the other day that having American soldiers fight Netanyahu’s wars “is the best for us.” Smotrich doesn’t want to die for Israel. Neither does Ben Shapiro. Dying for Israel is your job. You’ve got to wonder how people like this — liars without honor, wisdom or loyalty to the United States — wound up in positions of such profound influence throughout our society. How did Mark Levin get the president’s cell phone number? Why is Adm. Brad Cooper, the man in charge of the Iran war, secretly taking strategic advice from crazed Israel shill Mark Dubowitz? It’s all so nuts, and ultimately suicidal. Future generations will struggle to understand it. In the meantime, Trump will likely obey Ben Shapiro, as he has consistently for months. We can predict the results, because every neocon “victory” is identical: huge numbers of innocent people killed, disproportionately Christians, economic destruction, famine, mass migration and deepening authoritarianism at home. That’s what they’re demanding because that’s what they want. What can we do to stop it? Apparently not much. But we can remember what happened and why, so that history records the truth. Otherwise, when the war ends in disaster, as it inevitably will, Ben Shapiro will be able to blame you for it.
Chris Menahan 🇺🇸@infolibnews

Ben Shapiro urges Trump to wage total war on Iran: "No one in America wants American casualties… We do understand that war does come along with casualties … we're willing to undergo those casualties in pursuit of an end and for a victory." He says Americans would be fine with Trump blowing up Kharg Island and frames the destruction of Kharg and South Pars as a cheat code to instant victory. Iran has said they'll respond to such an attack on Kharg by blowing up "all oil and gas infrastructure in the region in which the U.S. and its allies have interests" and plunging the world into a global depression.

Caller : Can I Retire On $3 Million Caller: Um, so I've... I'm debt-free. Um, I have about $3 million, and I'm curious if that's enough to comfortably retire. Dave Ramsey: It should be! It's a lot of money. Well done. Caller: Thank you. Dave Ramsey: How old are you? Caller: Uh, 58. Dave Ramsey: Okay. Well, we have to define "comfortably," and we have to define uh what you're going to do with this money. Because obviously, you're not stupid or you wouldn't have ended up with $3 million. But if you suddenly grew stupid, uh you could get rid of the 3 million real quickly and not retire, right? Caller: Correct. Dave Ramsey: So, if you had it reasonably invested and lived on that income, obviously you could retire. So if it were me, I would have put that in good growth stock mutual funds making 11% or 12% and lived off of about 10% or less, which means I would have somewhere around $250,000–$300,000 a year to live on. I think I could struggle through. And the money would never, and the principal would never deplete substantially during that time, and I could do that in perpetuation. If you can do that, then you're going to be just fine. If you want to put it in CDs and make 2%, well, you're going to have to live on very little while your $3 million sits there and deteriorates in its purchasing power.

So you think earning $408,000 a year is a lot of money? After working 50+ hours a week, being stressed out of your mind, and barely seeing your kids, it might not be the dream income you imagined. Look how quickly the money goes. $1/month left over. What would you cut?

Embarrassing. Embarrassing for him. Embarrassing for the legal profession. Embarrassing for the Justice Department. Embarrassing for his former law partners (who have been embarrassed more than they deserve lately). Embarrassing for his family. Embarrassing for anyone who has ever met or worked with him (I guess I am fortunate to have not). And embarrassing for the country. For the life of me I will never understand why intelligent, otherwise respected people like Clayton have chosen to abase themselves for a corrupt, criminal, imbecilic sociopath.
