@afor007 @egi_nupe The reason why he can’t do that is because of something called “fiscal federalism”. The money does not belong to him to do as he pleases.

He knows that most of the governors will not utilise the money. We have a huge debt that we are servicing. Why can't he try to pay back this debt gradually, thereby reducing the huge amount they used in servicing it. It is painful seeing pple sacrificing and govnors keep looting the money

Let us even have serious conversation and end this once and for all. We all agreed that subsidy was due to go! All the major and serious candidates had a common ground on the immediate removal of fuel subsidy. Again, we agreed that as a result of the President’s statement that “subsidy is gone” price of fuel and other things went up. Follow me. We all can confirm that more money is being generated and more money is shared to states as FAAC allocation on monthly and regular basis? What should the President to do states that are not applying the allocation as it should be? Remove their Governors? Stop giving them money?
𝐇𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐦𝐚, 𝐏𝐡.𝐃.@Realoilsheikh

Removing subsidies and pumping the money to these governors was never for the benefit of the people. The cruelty has been well planned. He knows that is the resources he need to rig a re-election even when he knows he won't perform.

Guys, if you have a successful marriage, it is grace given to you by God o. It’s not because you know how to do it. You can only do your part to be good. You can’t legislate for the other party. Just do your best to be a good guy and pray for grace. I am Ezemmuo. I know things.

Abuja is a good place to live, no doubt, but one thing people hardly talk about enough is how difficult it is to live in Abuja. Accommodation alone is a major problem. Agents and landlords fix rent as if everyone in Abuja is connected to government money😂. You can hardly get a decent one-bedroom apartment within town for under 2–3 million naira yearly. If your budget is around 1 million, you will most likely end up staying in a place a bit far from town and spend even more money commuting daily. The painful part is that most people in Abuja are average income earners, except the politicians, their allies, and few rich people. A lot of people survive on salaries between 70k–150k, and even those opportunities are not easy to find. Yet rents, transportation, food, and general living expenses keep increasing. Most people here are honestly struggling financially; Abuja just has a culture of packaging hardship to look comfortable. 😂😂😂Don’t let anybody make you feel less of yourself o. Transportation itself is another daily battle. When you finally find a car, they squeeze four people at the back and two in front as if human beings are cargo. Public transportation is neither efficient nor properly structured for the population. For a city that serves as the nation’s capital, the lack of a reliable and accessible transport system is shocking. Abuja was clearly designed for people with cars. If you do not have your own car here, daily movement can be stressful and exhausting. The road network looks beautiful on paper, but in reality, many places are difficult to access without private transportation. When I got my car, I was moved to tears because 😂😂😂. I had my own share of Abuja public transport for about 4 years—wearing suit and tie only to be packed like fish with 3 other people. Your white shirt can even get messed up. After spending money of dry cleaning. If you’re not having issues with transportation, accommodation will be stressful, if that is not really a problem, you will be complaining high cost of living. I personally don’t understand the hype about Abuja. Yes, the city is calm and organized compared to many places, but the cost of living is overwhelming for average earners. If you do not have a stable, well-paying job or a reliable source of income, Abuja go humble you. It is a good place to live, yes, but the general cost of living, accommodation, transportation, and the growing insecurity concerns make survival difficult for many residents. God will continue to help us. May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria 🇳🇬. Thank you.

It is difficult to really say because it all depends on context. But let’s use a simple Abuja example. A single person working in town, living in Kubwa or elsewhere… Cost of living looks like: * Rent: 1m/year at 85k/month * Transport (3k daily) is about 60k/month * Feeding (3k daily) is about 90k/month * Utilities: about 50k/month That’s already ~285k (excluding data and other miscellaneous). If we do, data/phone at about 20k, Personal/lifestyle at about 30k, Health/misc at about 20k then Social life at 30k. So that gets us to about 380k/month. That is not comfortable and it is just getting by. But again, I know that is almost out of reach for many. So to your question. A more realistic view will be say: * Entry level: 400k–600k * Mid level: 700k–1m * Senior level: 1.2m+

Big Sallah is 27th May. Which means the money to buy ram and other expenses has to come out of this salary that they just paid. Which has already finished. So if you know you want to eat ram next month, just squeeze something into your Muslim friends hands today. Shebi you too you’re seeing the economy?

@tosky_elnino Yes, you are right. However, the line between need and want is blurry. In this case, the electricity he points to falls within the realm of “need.” 10 hours of electricity daily would only be appreciated for a month or so, with the appetite for more growing.
