The far right see Israel as an anti-Muslim, supremacist ethno-state. Israel actively promotes European far right parties. They even invited Tommy Robinson on *an official visit*. It's actually all very straightforward!
lee harpin@lmharpin

Sickening to see Israeli flags flown at that Robinson march today. With its neo-Nazi contingent, salutes, Christian-only far right filth. Just don’t understand where small minority in the community have headed.

NBC News reported Thursday that attacks by Jewish extremists against Christians, including clergy, nuns, and pilgrims in Jerusalem’s Old City, are sharply escalating. Sister Mary Meline, interviewed by NBC, described the routine humiliation faced by Christian clergy in the city central to their faith: “The spitting on the ground for me it’s every time I go to Jerusalem nearly.” Christian leaders and Israeli activists told NBC the attack is part of a broader pattern of harassment and physical assault targeting clergy and pilgrims — often carried out by ultra-Orthodox Jewish yeshiva students. Jerusalem’s Christian population has collapsed from roughly 25% to less than 2% of the city over the past century.

Most interesting thing here is that the Israeli Foreign Ministry now acknowledges the Nakba happened. They just think it was justified. A shift from the long history of Nakba denial that said Arabs fled of their own volition because their leaders told them to.
Israel Foreign Ministry@IsraelMFA

To the Nakba glorifiers: The Nakba was the result of the Arab rejection of the UN Partition Plan & decision to launch war to annihilate the State of Israel. You can't start war, openly vow to “throw the Jews into the sea,” and then pretend being the victim of the conflict you started. The real forgotten victims are the 850,000 Jewish refugees expelled from Arab countries at the same time.

I hear a lot of US politicians talking about “radicalization “ & “indoctrination “ of children by leftist teachers. What would they say in the case of this young girl. She was not born with this hate. Someone instilled it in her & if they are honest, they should root it out.

Atara, a U.S.-Israeli settler who moved with her parents from Texas to settle in the occupied Palestinian territories, believes that Al-Aqsa Mosque should be demolished and Palestinians should be expelled — or… listen to what she said.

Similarities between Israel’s bombing of Gaza and Lebanon are growing. Hospitals in flames and children buried beneath rubbles, in flagrant violation of all international laws and treaties, with full impunity and absolutely no consequences. This’s not Gaza. This’s Lebanon…

Rarely do survivors see real justice in the courts. Which makes today's SSC decision even more important, as it created a new tort for IPV grounded in coercive control paving the way for lawsuits. This validates what advocates have said, IPV shouldn't be restricted to incidents but expanded to recognize long-term behaviour that erode dignity, autonomy and equality. cbc.ca/news/politics/…

@milneice Makes me wonder about broad application of say the hate speech legislation. Does posting, supporting or emailing the PM, Ministers and representatives voicing concern over the genocide in Palestine, the annexation of Gaza & Lebanon equates to reasonable suspicion?

It will force service providers to store up to a year of every CDN's online activity, including your browsing history, GPS history, and digital footprint. White hat hackers are warning that these lawful access provisions will make it easier for criminals to exploit CDN systems.

“WE NEED TO LET THEM DO INSIDER TRADING TO FEED THEIR FAMILIES” That was the actual argument just made in defense of politicians trading stocks. Members of Congress make $174,000 a year. The median American income is roughly $63,000. (3x less) Meanwhile the federal minimum wage is $7.25 an hour… also unchanged since 2009. And you’re seriously being told politicians need access to insider trading to survive. The system is designed to lead earth to neo-feudalism. And it’s becoming more brazen by the year. Asset ownership consolidates upward. Living standards decline downward. The middle class gets squeezed from both ends and disappears while the elite class accumulates more wealth, more influence, and more protection. Leaving behind a permanent underclass. And a permanent political-financial aristocracy at the top…

True story: a week before I resigned from the CBC I started to look into Kars 4 Kids, the commercial played ad nauseum at my desk on CBC News at least 35 times a shift. I traced the fake charity to New Jersey & Israel with holdings in Dubai.

Please ask yourself this… Why doesn’t the murder of 3 Palestinian children generate the same horror, media coverage and outrage that 3 Israeli children would? They are all our children.
Mehdi Hasan@mehdirhasan

They killed 3 children in Gaza today, in the midst of a supposed ceasefire, but they’re Palestinians so their lives don’t count. I am trying to imagine the media coverage of Hamas killed 3 Israeli children today.

@MandyGullMasty does Canada stand up for Indigenous rights globally or only at home? @MSidhuLiberal, CDN registered mining companies have a negative reputation globally due to human rights abuses against indigenous peoples who oppose destruction of their lands. #NotInMyName

Tim Kaine just did something almost extinct in American politics: He added historical memory back into the conversation. 1943: The US publicly backed Iran’s sovereignty. 1953: The US and UK helped overthrow Iran’s democratically elected government after it threatened Western oil interests. Then came: • The Shah • SAVAK torture and repression • The 1979 Revolution • The hostage crisis • The Iran-Iraq War • US backing of Saddam • Flight 655 • Decades of sanctions, proxy wars, strikes, and escalation None of this excuses the Iranian regime. It explains the chain reaction. Washington often talks about Iran like history began yesterday. Kaine’s point is that cause and effect still exist, even when empires pretend they don’t. If endless escalation were the answer, we’d already be living in peace. Instead, we’re standing in the rubble of 70 years of mutual hostility pretending more fire will somehow fix the burn.
