We’ve all been there, having a junior mindset and trying to solve "magic" bugs by randomly changing code until it works Coding agents make it too easy to stay in that phase forever If you delegate the thinking to an LLM, you’re just automating that instinct. The result? slop

I think we need to acknowledge that VC, in general, rewards (and has always rewarded!) growth above anything else. This is why "fake it till you make it" is how many VC-funded startups succeed, and then get glorified for it. AI is a tool that allows to build software that LOOKS correct from the outside, even though it's barely held together by duct tape from the inside. The bet is that startups embracing it will have the time and space to fix it up. Just look at Delve: a Y Combinator complaince startup that sold compliance, but did none of it; it was a full-on marketing play. They still raised $30M+, and it was perhaps bad luck that a disgruntled customer exposed the actual reality (no real AI usage like claimed, no working integrations, and def not much complaince work beyond rubber stamping). In another world, they raise another $100M in a few months, then proceed to fix the inside to start to match the external, outrageous promises (and tone down those promises)

Mistakes happen. As a team, the important thing is to recognize it’s never an individuals’s fault — it’s the process, the culture, or the infra. We checked our data and firewall logs and see no such thing. In fact, we see zero failed requests. That gentleman has since deleted their LinkedIn post. hayotkiss.com is up and looks like a really nice website. Many times people report they've succeeded in attacking a host because they get blocked or throttled by our DDoS mitigations 😂 Possibly what was in play here…
