@TylerAlterman @walkietakis I think the thing that’s special about the NYC version of this is that it’s socially unacceptable to talk to others most of the time! Until something interesting/unexpected/weird happens, and everybody decides it’s ok to interact

@walkietakis I’ve lived in many cities and really the latter does happen a lot more in NYC bc of the density and culture

This is a very NYC moment. This city is full of delightful & strange little interactions, but you have to be open to them!

@alpha_convert Coffee: Halfway Coffee is v cute (they serve coffee in vintage HK porcelain cups), Elephant Grounds
Food: Tim Ho Wan (dim sum), Zagin (expensive but v good ramen)
Running: there’s a (newly opened) 6-mile long path along the harbor! (I’ve not tried it but have heard good things)

Effective today, I've been promoted to Associate Professor at CMU. Thanks to my amazing students, colleagues, and peers for the support!
Now time for a sabbatical :-)

@ngernest2 I’m excited to jog along the harbor! But if my experience trying to run at ICFP in Singapore is anything to go by, it might be slightly unpleasant lol

The latest OCaml release (5.5) has some great stuff. Module dependent functions are a big step, and we've been waiting for it to land foreeever.
Polymorphic parameters is great too.
