The “Chiffon” lie ends today. Yoruba Gele etymology is literally pocket handkerchief. (Frame 1 & 5) Gele is aso inuju(face wiping cloth). My Igbo Ichafu etymology is high-fashion Kerchief / Head-dress / Coiffure.(frame 2&3) From the 1900 European archives: Içafo (Ichafu) comes from the native compound Içi-ọfọ (Gathered-Wrap).(frame 2&3) The French translation in the records is Couvre-chef (Head-cover) and Coiffure (Elaborate Hairstyle). It even lists the synonym Akwaisi, which literally translates to ‘Head-dress’(frame 2&3) Meanwhile, that same record (1900)translates Chiffon as Nkilika-akwa (RAGS) in Igbo. No connection to Ichafo at all. Igbos didn't name our crowns after French rags or piece of light cotton(pocket handkerchief), we named them after the art of the wrap. 💯 indigenous. My etymology is a Coiffure, yours is a pocket handkerchief.

@geenaabiti This is wrong The etymology of the word Ichafu is from Chiffon which was recently introduced to Nigeria in post colonial 20th century. Unlike Gele that is centuries old part of the Yoruba cultural attires. Ichafu is a scarf brought by the colonials, Gele is Yoruba headgear

Also this constant praise of Alex Otti shows you many of these people are mere sheep with no mind of their own. There are 4 main criteria to judge a governor. 1. IGR growth 2. Infrastructure delivery 3. Fiscal Discipline 4. Economic Impact ( Investment attracted, jobs created etc) If you run this criteria through any AI chatbot, Alex Otti will not enter top 5. Sanwo olu Peter Mbah Soludo Seyi Makinde Umo Eno Will all rank above him. But the fact that many of them keep singing his praises like he has done anything extraordinary clearly shows they have absolutely no idea how a government is run, and are just semi-illiterate adult babies ranting off vibes.
MR OLA@onlineguru__

Tinubu literally removed straw from the mouth of Nigerians and connected a pipe directly to the Governors and you are wondering why he has 31 Governors under his Spell These Governors are receiving more than times 5 of their former allocations and they are feeding fat on it with nothing to show except for Governor Alex Otti Tinubu have drawn the battle line between him and Poor Nigerians Come 2027 we must let him know that the power of the people is far greater than the people in power

@Bond_not_james You are weird. You have this penchant to be the outlier. You think by always staying away from the majority thought you will be right. You also have poor temperament when it comes to being in public discourse. IGR is a direct collection from tax. Otti is not taxing yet. Thanks

Something remarkable is happening in the South East. Quietly, almost like a regional relay race, the governors are pushing development at a pace we have not seen in decades. In Abia, Alex Otti is restoring industry and rebuilding infrastructure, Modernizing transportation, with plans and actions aimed at sustaining the reliable 24/7 power for businesses and homes. In Anambra, Charles Soludo is fighting insecurity, instilling ethos of hard work in youths, dualizing major roads across the state in a beltway approach, building new cities, remodeling major markets, and deliberately channeling thousands of young people into the technology economy. In Enugu, Peter Mbah has launched a new airline initiative, fighting aggressively for portable water sufficiency, attracting businesses and tourists back to Enugu, rolling out smart schools, and systematically rebuilding long-abandoned infrastructures across the state. In Imo, Hope Uzodimma is constructing new bridges, powering the burgeoning energy sector and expanding the economic reach of Owerri into surrounding towns, opening up new growth corridors. In Ebonyi, the government is investing heavily in human capital, sending hundreds of young people abroad for advanced education while simultaneously building new roads and hospitals. Across the South East, a rare and powerful thing is unfolding: healthy competition for growth, infrastructure, and human development. Naturally, those who benefit from chaos, insecurity, and directionless agitation are uncomfortable. When progress rises, the merchants of instability become restless. Now the familiar scripts are appearing again: manufactured protests amplified by voices that thrive on keeping the region trapped in underdevelopment. But the truth is simple. When a people finally begin to move forward, those who profit from stagnation will always try to drag them back. This time, the region must choose progress.

When I lost my first USD remote job, it made me realize how very little many of us know about timezones. Nigeria runs on West Africa Time (WAT). And Nigeria's time is also expressed as GMT+1 and UTC+1. Not GMT. Not UTC. GMT+1 and UTC+1. What this means is that when it comes to GMT & UTC, Nigeria is +1 hour ahead, and WAT is Nigeria’s official time zone. So practically speaking: If it’s
• 12:00 PM GMT
• 12:00 PM UTC Then it is
• 1:00 PM in Nigeria (WAT) That +1 hour difference matters. Many people casually schedule meetings in GMT or UTC, and Nigerian workers assume it’s the same as their local time, but it’s not. Another thing many newbies don’t know is that some countries change their clocks twice a year because of Daylight Saving Time. But Nigeria does not. So the time difference between Nigeria and some countries changes depending on the time of the year. Example: A 9AM meeting in New York might be:
• 3PM in Nigeria during one part of the year
• 2PM in Nigeria during another If you don’t understand this, you miss meetings, you respond late, and you look unreliable. And in remote work, reliability is everything. The easiest way to avoid timezone mistakes is to: 1. Always confirm the timezone used (GMT, UTC, etc.) 2. Convert every set time immediately to WAT 3. Save it in your calendar 4. Never assume. Always verify that you’ve converted corrected. Tools like Google Calendar and World Time Buddy make this easy. Remote work is global, and understanding the relationship between GMT, UTC, and WAT is one of those tiny details that determine whether you keep a job or lose one. Hope this helps.

Yes, there’s a lot of message. Here’s some of them: - The family is in a clean home, they have food to cook, and the children are well dressed. So, someone obviously had to work to pay for all these. - The wife is smiling and doesn’t look tired. If she had gone to work the whole day and had to resume cooking at home, she would have been tired and wouldn’t be cooking so happily. So, we can infer that the husband was the one who went to work in order to provide for the family. - Despite having gone to work to provide for the family, the husband, a present father, came back home to his family, is still looking joyful, and is relaxing by watching the TV he bought. He only gets to watch the TV occasionally. His children and wife understand this, and they’re allowing him enjoy his TV time without disturbance. - She’s pregnant even while nursing an infant. It is only in a happy, non-abusive home that a woman would be willing to give birth to as many as possible children without much gap between them, as she’s sure that the husband is present and capable of taking care of them. - The woman, even while pregnant, is still beautiful, unlike the average Nigerian woman who stops using make up and filters during pregnancy then claims that pregnancy makes women ugly. Overall, this is a healthy, loving, and happy family where every member contributes towards its happiness.

This was bound to happen. I went through the comments and saw people asking why a war in Iran is affecting oil prices in Nigeria. I'll explain it in a very simple way for you. Read 👇🏽 Think of it like this: even if you have a kitchen (refinery) in your house, you still have to buy tomatoes (crude oil) from the market. Right now, because of the war, the farmers in Saudi Arabia and Qatar have stopped selling, so the price of the remaining tomatoes has tripled globally. Since our refineries, including Dangote, buy crude at these international prices, the cost of the stew (petrol) has to go up to cover the bill. We are not fighting the war, yesss, but we are all passengers on the same global bus. When the driver hits a pothole in the Middle East, every passenger in Lagos and Abuja feels the shake. Until we can bypass global market prices entirely, a cough over there will always be a headache over here. Don't even think of it that a bypass will happen. It's your assignment to learn why. I know some of you will still not read this post. INALEGWU.

While we were distracted, this happened: On February 25th 2026, Hon. Alex Mascot, a key member of the Aids and Loans Committee confronted Wale Edun, over the disappearance of capital project funds, despite trillions of naira in loans and record-breaking revenues. It began as a routine budget defence but escalated into a high stakes interrogation when Hon. Mascot revealed a disturbing pattern: - N1.15 trillion had been raised and specifically approved by the National Assembly to fund 30% of the 2025 capital budget. - Multiple loans had been secured, including: $1.2 billion for digital infrastructure, $500 million for economic stimulus, $500 million for MSMEs, $500 million from the AFDB for economic governance and energy transition, and a recent executive request for $21 million, 15 billion Yen, and 4 billion Euros. He queried why despite this avalanche of borrowed money and strong revenue performance by agencies like FIRS, Customs, and others, capital projects across Nigeria remain at zero disbursement. "With all these funds put together, I want you to enlighten us on why the 2024 budget is yet to be fully implemented, and why the 2025 budget has only been funded 34%, most of which is recurrent expenditure?" He asked the minister to enlighten Nigerians on why the capital projects still remain at zero. Minister Wale Edun shifted responsibility to the Minister of State for Finance, Doris Uzoka-Anite, claiming she handled disbursements. The infuriated committee members then asked; "If the substantive Minister of Finance cannot account for ₦1.15 trillion approved for capital projects, who can?" Some lawmakers called for the ministers to resign, but the committee had no choice but to adjourn the hearing to Thursday, February 26th, summoning the Minister of State to provide the clarity the nation deserves. After the committee meeting, Hon. Mascot spoke to the press and said, “When capital projects funding are at zero, development stops. When development stops, Nigerians suffer”. On Thursday, hearing resumed, then the Minister of State for Finance, Doris Uzoka-Anite, was summoned to account for the missing ₦1.15 trillion. It was confirmed that ₦1.15 trillion was indeed approved for capital projects. However, disbursement protocols require multiple sign-offs, and that certain "pre-disbursement conditions" had not been met by some ministries. She argued that while the funds exist, they cannot be released until Project documentation is complete The committee members, armed with the Health Minister's earlier testimony that he received only ₦38 million of his ₦286 billion allocation, then asked, "if protocols were the issue, why were some ministries given the runaround while others weren't?" Mascot rose again and asked: “Mr. Chairman, can the minister tell this committee which specific ministry met all conditions and still did not receive funding? If none existed, why was ₦1.15 trillion approved when the government knew conditions weren't met?" The minister could not provide a single example. Mascot then said: "· If capital funds were approved, where are they? · If they were misappropriated, who is responsible? · If this is a crime, who will be held accountable?" Mascot stated that if funds were approved but never reached their destination, that is not poor administration. That is a crime. On February 27th 2026, Hon. Mascot was invited to Aso Rock by President Tinubu for a close door meeting. After the meeting with the president, Hon. Ikwechegh announced his resignation from his party APGA, announcing his intention to join the APC. This is a classic move by Tinubu who always buys off his critics and sadly, Hon. Alex Mascot Ikwechegh has become his latest victim. Hon. Alex Mascot Ikwechegh will soon begin to sing “on your mandate” and he will never never again demand for accountability. It will be; see no evil, speak no evil. All these happened while we were shouting Mirabel, Simi, VDM and Mitchy. Good PM.

When I said our highest generation before this administration was 7,000MW and transmission was about 4,000MW, they said I didn't say anything. Thanks to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we now generate about 11,000MW and transmit almost 8,000MW. A simple question on what you would do differently is all you need to know, this is all noise.

It's not Tompolo and his company that gets N 2 Trillion yearly, it is the Niger Delta Militants reparation. They fought for control of their resources for several years and this was the agreement between gov't and the militants. This is a no-go area, because any attempt to stop it will not be tolerated by them. This is what boko haram is also fighting to get after learning from them, that's why the North is protecting them.
