My read on the Operation Epic Fury is that Trump has achieved what he wanted to achieve.
He wanted to take out Iran's nuclear capability. He wanted to severely degrade its missile capability. He wanted to destroy its Navy which threatened the Strait of Hormuz and he wanted to decapitate the regime.
All achieved.
The next step, if we want to go further, would be a ground invasion.
And after our experience with Iraq, we don't want that. This isn't about nation building. This is about removing an existential threat.
That's why Trump's crew is seeking to make a deal now.
I predict this whole thing is over within two weeks.
