Not to take a side here, but I believe this is what Joe asked the President to do in the first place and then made his point in the loudest way possible, so perhaps that encouraged the President's consideration in some way. I don't think there's an American alive who has fought Iran and their proxies more directly, and perhaps some of Joe's suggestions have been grafted into the policy here in a direction we can all be happy with.
