@nikillinit I studied abroad in London in the pre-smartphone era and used to navigate home via the tiny maps they have on bus stations. I also took the night bus home by getting on a series of buses headed in generally the right direction.

never ceases to amaze me how much easier international travel has gotten
- You can basically use the same ridesharing apps anywhere. Map guidance is provided for you, relatively scam proof, and you don't need to know the local language
- Credit cards basically universally accepted, or local e-payment options which are trivial to set up. You don't need to do currency exchange and lose cash because of a bad rate/commission
- You can keep your same phone plan and use it internationally without necessarily needing to go through the sim process
- Being able to pull up Google translate and have a near full conversation (this feels like it's going to get much better very soon with these new LLM tools)
- Airbnb experiences are a fantastic way to find interesting tours/activities to do in any city (I basically book one cooking class and walking tour in any city now)
- Bonus: ChatGPT makes itinerary planning way easier. I literally dumped all the suggestions I got for things to see, had it spit out a google maps file and also create an itinerary each day clustered by geography

Thrilled to announce I'll NOT be speaking at #HLTH2024, but if you want to:
1) See pics of my dog
2) Learn why teams at Astrana, SOL, Better Health are using Awell’s AI-powered CareOps platform to get ahead (and stay there)

@clnbrns This is the Tour de France winner's recovery output
English

If you've ever ridden a Peloton, you'll know how crazy this is.
TJ Watt@_TJWatt
I bet it does.
English

@clnbrns This makes me sick to my stomach. Those poor kids.

We'll know more once their S-1 is public on unit economics and where the growth is coming from but in general liquidity in the market begets more liquidity and my hope is as companies price in the impact of rate cuts we see a lot more M&A activity

@SvanteMyrick Honestly, being insulted by Ann Coulter is a badge of honor that any IC grad is happy to wear
English

Her heinous quest for relevance continues - this time by insulting one of the very best journalism schools in the world.

OMG, Muir went to Ithaca College. His I.Q. is in the negative digits.

@nikillinit I have so many questions about the phrasing of this email - "somehow I subscribed"?
English

@dvasishtha I had to make up a pretend SSN so I could get my son enrolled in insurance without having a continual panic attack over it

As Dallas to Boston transplants, it's fun seeing some of our old haunts quoted in here, even if they're very wrong and the Celtics are going to win it all.

@DrAalami @healthapiguy The Dunkin learning curve that a "regular" coffee = with cream and sugar is steeeeep
English

@healthapiguy Was that Dunkin' Donuts? I remember the first sip of their coffee... 🤪
English

@mikeorren We have this nonsense in Massachusetts. It's everywhere.
English

@tedvid Wait until you find out the names for various baby-wearing devices
English

@chrissyfarr 💯 I’m waiting until a lawsuit happens because AI gave the wrong advice or filed the wrong data… 95% accuracy is good enough until it isn’t.
English

@tedvid Not much, most of your sleepless nights will be spent overbuying stuff on Amazon that you then have to return. Congrats, btw!!
The biggest thing I wish I had considered was seasonality for clothes - he lived in a onesie for the first 2 months of his life, I didn't need full PJs
English

@pbpope @tedvid @KurtStadelman and big vote for the double zipper - easy to get them out of it, but also helpful when you just need to do a diaper change!
English

@tedvid @KurtStadelman Seconded on zipper onesies. Can sometimes be more challenging to get them into the non-zip leg hole, but fiddling with all the snaps was such a pain.
English

@lmlody @chrissyfarr ^^^ it's this. Decision by committee weakens the message, especially if that messaging is trying to be everything to everyone. Marketing needs to have more space to stretch creatively, or you just end up with the same thing over and over.
English

@chrissyfarr Having multiple people and multiple committees sign off on anything does that to all decisions.
