@dokimazete @JoshDaws You’ve just reduced two broad, idiosyncratic perspectives into a couple of neat, little boxes, and it does more disservice to both “sides” than it’s worth. They absolutely do not represent the breadth of either position. If you think they do, gather more feedback outside of X.

Akin to a Hillbilly Elegy-like effort to sympathetically understand the outsider, writer-critics have tried to categorize the pro-AI mind. Some have tried to reduce it to personality (idealist vs. pragmatist). Others to brain structure (left vs. right). These are unconvincing.

@maklelan I don’t understand how you can say textual consistency over time isn’t relevant to the historic claims they make. Inconsistency would be a major signal that the Bibles we read today are not remotely historically accurate. This video plays like you have an axe to grind.

Good news: the Spring Boot app I’m working with is now up-to-date enough to use SB’s built-in virtual thread management. What a rush!

We have very high confidence in a number of them. So, scope it to them and argue about whether they were lying, sincere, or fooling themselves. If it's the latter, then reconcile that with the other independent eye witness accounts and historical corroboration. You already know about all this. I don't understand why you're bleeding with such a hostile bias.

We have no idea how the majority of the disciples died. Most of the martyrdom tales come from fantastical apocryphal narratives written a century or more later & nothing even in those stories indicates a simple “it didn’t happen” would have saved them.
Frank Turek@DrFrankTurek

The disciples of Jesus who were in a position to know whether Jesus had risen from the dead or not, died excruciating deaths when they could have saved themselves by simply saying, "Look, it never happened."

AI is quietly deprecating GitHub. Agents do not need branches, PRs, or CI/CD rituals. They want to ship code straight to the cloud. The rsync renaissance is here. High availability. Zero bloat. Faster loops.

I’m a little surprised at this response given your background. Nevermind the fact that a Christian perspective isn’t necessary to make the moral case for God, but the ancient Israelites were *surrounded* by barbaric forms of slavery at the time. Compared to how virtually all other nations regulated it, there’s was shockingly tame, even overtly compassionate by comparison. You’d be hard-pressed to find laws requiring no ruthless rule, Jubilee, etc. enforced by other nations. Even beyond the OT, there’s distinct journey in how scripture appears to move his people to abandon the practice under themes of freedom into the NT (ex: Philemon bleeds this sentiment), and as the surrounding culture shifted to make it more practical to advocate for. Argue all you want about how effective it is. I’m just saying it’s there. I guess I expected a more impressive “gotcha” than what I saw here.

Researchers at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) have created an innovative spray-on powder called AGCL that can stop severe bleeding in about one second. This powder, made from safe, natural ingredients like alginate, gellan gum, and chitosan, instantly forms a strong hydrogel barrier when it contacts blood. It reacts with calcium ions in the blood to seal the wound quickly, even in deep or irregular injuries—unlike traditional bandages that often fall short. The material absorbs more than 7 times its weight in blood, sticks firmly under high pressure, and supports fast tissue healing. It's fully biocompatible, with very low risk of cell damage. Developed with input from an active-duty South Korean Army Major, it's built for extreme conditions like battlefields and disaster zones, where rapid bleeding control can be life-saving. It also stays effective for up to 2 years in hot or humid storage. This breakthrough promises to transform not only military trauma care but also civilian emergencies, surgeries, and medical aid in remote areas. The research was published in Advanced Functional Materials. [Son, Y., Pak, K., Lee, T., Prayogo, M. C., Choi, J., Kang, S., Kang, M., Oh, B., Sun, S. Y., Kim, S., Im, S. G., Jon, S., & Park, S. Imagine accusing writers who hate AI programming masquerading as real writing as the ones who are performing a form of witchcraft—instead of people who lazily and deceptively pass off artificial intelligence’s Frankenstein content as their own. This is insanity.
Josh Daws@JoshDaws

Anti-AI writers treat their work like a horcrux, as if typing words manually embeds a piece of their soul into the draft, and AI use would corrupt the sacred vessel. This is not theology. It’s not even good metaphysics. It’s magical thinking dressed up as artistic integrity.

Neil Postman was writing about television and computers, so unless you’re prepared to forgo those in your life, I’m going to need more than an invocation of his name as an argument against AI.
