Executive committee meetings are certainly a milestone with corporate real estate! Today I got 5 sites approved. Bringing my total this year to 16 approved AutoZone sites. 2 of these deals were sourced on X. I am very open to sharing my direct email to serve as a funnel for all potential sites! I handle the entire Gulf Coast Region, along with Birmingham, Memphis, and New Orleans.

It’s been a tough week. After nearly 8 decades my family business, Weir’s Furniture, announced we will close all our stores. I’m heartbroken for our 130 employees some of whom have worked with us for 40+ years. At 14 years old my first job was working shoulder to shoulder with these incredible people. When my great grandfather started the company in 1948 he made our motto “At Weir’s the difference is the people”. This remains the driving principle during this difficult transition. We made the decision to pull the cord now in order to provide the employees with a generous severance package and have retained a headhunting firm to help place them at their next role. Second my heart breaks for my ancestors, especially my grandmother who is still living. Four generations gave their blood sweat and tears to build the business. It’s hard to watch her try to grapple with the unthinkable. Finally my heart hurts for all of our incredible partners, vendors, and customers. We would be nothing without them. They are left with a hole that will be tough to fill. Closing the doors is always hard. But I know God is in control and I am confident he will open new doors for everyone affected by this situation.
