I have belatedly discovered how much fun Quacks of Quedlinberg is. It rivals Splendor for quick to play with that instant "this is a great game that I am genuinely delighted to play with newbies" and they love it, too.

@amandafholmes I love it! I like the side of the player board with tubes at the bottom, so when you move the blood drop forward in the pot, you can have another option, move on the tube and get the bonus. It's brilliant! The feeling of completing that track is great too!😍

@amandafholmes That seems to be the case with many modern board games - either games are getting more complex or my dementia is setting in.

Played a game of Oath last night and it was pretty great. I actually remembered all the rules by about halfway through the game and it turned that was perfect timing!
