All his classmates understood the assignment ❤️ At Carmel High School, a graduating student, Jack Higgins, who lives with Autism, walked onto the stage to receive his diploma. Knowing that loud applause could overwhelm him, his classmates chose to respond differently. Instead of cheering, they gave him a silent ovation - raising their hands and celebrating without noise so he could experience the moment comfortably. This wasn’t just kindness in passing, it was intentional inclusion. Whether quietly coordinated or understood among them, the result was the same: they changed the environment for him, allowing him to fully take part in a milestone that often overwhelms people with sensory sensitivity.
