Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus
This @HHSGov statement concerning @WHO contains inaccurate information. The truth is as follows: While WHO recommended the use of masks, physical distancing and vaccines, WHO did not recommend governments to mandate the use of masks or vaccines and never recommended lockdowns. WHO supported sovereign governments with technical advice and guidance that was developed on the basis of evolving evidence on #COVID19 for them to make policy decisions in the best interests of their citizens. Each government made their own decisions, based on their needs and circumstances.

The United States has formally withdrawn from the World Health Organization. We are reclaiming our independence, protecting American sovereignty, and putting U.S. public health policy back in the hands of the American people.

BREAKING: Trump's tariff lies are SHATTERED by a new report that reveals that Americans are paying 96% of the cost of his tariffs while foreign companies pay just a measly 4%. We knew that he was lying, but these numbers are stunning... "The tariffs are an own goal. The claim that foreign countries pay these tariffs is a myth. The data show the opposite: Americans are footing the bill," stated economist Julian Hinz, one of the authors of the study from the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. "There is no such thing as foreigners transferring wealth to the U.S. in the form of tariffs," Hinz said. The research team performed a robust analysis of the numbers by digging into more than 25 million shipment records totaling over $4 trillion in U.S. imports. They discovered that customs revenue in 2025 went up by $200 billion, but the vast majority of that number was paid by U.S. consumers. The volume of trade goods being imported "collapsed" because the tariffs have a disincentivizing nature, but export prices did not decrease. The team discovered beyond a shadow of a doubt that despite Trump's repeated insistence that foreign countries pay the tariffs, in reality they're a "consumption tax" on Americans. The team also specifically studied the tariffs placed on Brazil and India in August 2025 and again discovered that "the data show that foreign exporters did not lower their prices to offset the additional tariffs." "We compared Indian exports to the US with shipments to Europe and Canada and identified a clear pattern," Hinz stated. "Both export value and volume to the US dropped sharply, by up to 24 percent. But unit prices—the prices Indian exporters charged—remained unchanged. They shipped less, not cheaper." The "global impact" section of the report was the most damning portion of all. The Kiel Institute said that their findings indicated that American companies will be "confronted with shrinking margins and consumers with higher prices in the long run." The tariffs also push foreign countries to find new export markets. "Tariffs ultimately disadvantage everyone," said Hinz. Please ❤️ and share if you never believed Trump's tariff lies!

Dignity in Dying
Dignity in Dying@dignityindying·
This Friday, MPs will vote on the assisted dying Bill. It all comes down to this - Tag your MP and ask them to vote yes. If it passes, the Bill continues its journey in the House of Lords - if not, it falls. This could be our last chance to secure a compassionate law.

Toby Young

I've just submitted the following complaint to the BBC, @BBCPolitics and @bbclaurak. On Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg on 21st April 2024, Chris Packham, a BBC personality (ex-presenter of Springwatch, presenter of forthcoming Inside Our Minds), said the following when challenged by Luke Johnson about what evidence he had that extreme weather events are caused by carbon emissions: “It doesn’t come from Toby Young’s Daily Septic [sic], which is basically put together by a bunch of professionals with close affiliations to the fossil fuel industry. It comes from something called science.” This is both false and defamatory. I am the editor-in-chief of the Daily Sceptic, a news publishing site, and neither I nor any of the other people who put it together have any affiliations to the fossil fuel industry, close or otherwise. I have never been paid money by any fossil fuel companies, nor has the editor, Dr Will Jones, and we’ve never run an ad on the site from any fossil fuel companies. Chris Packham was not challenged by anyone on the programme about this false allegation, even though it's extremely serious and damaging, effectively claiming the people who put together the Daily Sceptic are corrupt, i.e., paid to publish climate contrarian articles by the fossil fuel industry. On the contrary, a clip of Chris Packham making this false and defamatory allegation was posted by BBC Politics on X and then retweeted by Laura Kuenssberg and as of the time of writing (11.15am on 25th April 2024) had been viewed over 850,000 times. The tweet hasn’t been deleted even though I pointed out on X that it was false on 21st April, quoting the original tweet.

Earlier this week, the government launched a consultation to better understand the barriers Community Energy Projects face. These projects involve people coming together to reduce energy use and re-invest money back into the area. One example is Nadder Community Energy 📽️👇
