A green line suddenly appeared on my Samsung S23 Ultra, a phone I have handled with extreme care and never dropped. I approached an authorized Samsung service centre with the original purchase bill. I was initially informed that the issue could be repaired free of cost, with only the service charge applicable. After keeping my phone for nearly a week, I was then told that the repair would not be free because the device was purchased 3 years and 20 days ago. What makes this especially frustrating is that I was told the same issue would reportedly have been repaired completely free of cost had it occurred just 20 days earlier. I have been a loyal Samsung user for nearly 20 years and have invested in the Samsung ecosystem because I trusted the brand’s quality and support. This experience has seriously shaken that trust. A premium flagship device developing a display issue under normal use, and the outcome changing over a difference of just 20 days, raises serious questions about customer support and long-term product reliability.
