On a city break in Amsterdam and have not put The Housemaid down once @Freida_McFadden ! Just finished it now and don’t know what to do with myself! My best read of the year so far! X
If there’s one thing the primary profession could do well to do more of, it’s read our kids funny books. If anything, they often get an undeserved bad rep and looked down on. I reckon every year should hear a genuinely funny book. Here’s four for starters. What would you add?
Year 2 have spent time in the art room, developing their sewing skills. They have thread their own needle and tied a knot in the yarn. They then created a calm cushion to snuggle. A lovely link to PSHE, feelings and personal development @WovenInKirklees@Textilesinplace
An unexpected hit in my classroom has been my mini galleries that live in the book corner. They're handmade, have a little bit of art history and context & are filled with art - it thrills me to see children get so engrossed in them! Art appreciation is important 💕✨
My becoming a doctor journey:
2000 - Leave my family behind in Lebanon at 17 years of age. I arrive in the UK & my first job is working in a kebab van. People ask if I can speak English.
2003 - I secure the grades to get into Manchester medical school despite the constant threat of having to work full time in a supermarket to survive.
2006 - Forced to interrupt med school after developing a severe episode of psychological distress triggered by the trauma of the Lebanon War.
2011 - Finally qualify from medical school & realise my dream of becoming a doctor.
There is no greater privilege & no higher honour than being a doctor.
I've made 5 creative writing cover lessons which might be useful for @Team_English1 for cover/revision/lessons etc. See resource here: laurawebbcpd.com/resources/
Hopefully saves someone some time!

To me, #WorldBookDay isn’t just about sharing the books we love, but understanding that we have the power to write our own stories in life - so today we did just that! My class are Little People, with Big Dreams💭 (sorry, bit deep for a Thursday night)
We’re always honoured to be asked by @theartcriminal and @accessart to share the work our children create. Not only did we learn a vast amount from the great speakers, we were able to share our Y2 and Y5 photography projects during an online CPDsession. #digitalart@Artsmarkaward
My TA is in school and asked if I needed any jobs doing whilst the class is shut. I asked her if she wanted to display the postcards on a map for me and she has just messaged me with this!!
It looks amazing!
