On this Memorial Day, my thoughts and prayers are with those who paid the ultimate sacrifice as well as the family members of the loved and lost. If I may steal a line from Abraham Lincoln: “I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours, to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of Freedom.” May God bless the men and women of our military. Supreme Court justices should not give speeches about their colleagues. If you have an opinion, write it down and file it. This is unprofessional and damaging to the institution.

It still drives me crazy how easy it would have been to convict Trump in 2021.
He committed a bunch of easy to prove felonies, with a SCOTUS case on point to cut off a 1a defense. Could have easily gotten a year in prison.

@JoshMcKoon Fani Willis fucked the case up. But Trump did affirmatively make knowingly false statements to Brad Raffensperger in a recorded call--for instance, that 5000 dead people voted. That's a felony in GA and a competent prosecutor could have secured a conviction in 2021.

A snake showed up in our backyard yesterday. Instead of panicking, I sent this photo to my OpenClaw. It identified it as a harmless gopher snake, gave me a local number to call to confirm, and suggested ways to catch it to make it a pet for the kids.
