🌹 IN MEMORY OF OVER 3.5 MILLION CHRISTIAN ARMENIAN, GREEK, ASSYRIAN, AND MARONITE MARTYRS 🌹
1914–1923 • 111 YEARS OF REMEMBRANCE
PEAK YEAR: 1915
The Ottoman Empire targeted Christian populations under its rule. 💔
This was not chaos.
This was a deliberate and systematic campaign against Christian communities.
Armenian, Assyrian, Greek, and Maronite Christians were singled out together. 🕯️
Men were separated and executed. ⚔️
Women were subjected to violence.
Children were left to die. 🥀
Families were forced on death marches into deserts without food or water. 🏜️
Communities were destroyed.
Churches were desecrated and burned. ⛪🔥
Clergy were persecuted and killed.
This tragedy affected all Christian communities —
Over 3.5 million Christians lost their lives. 💔
🌹 This was not accidental
⚔️ This was not collateral
🕯️ This was genocide
We remember 🌹
We honor 🕯️
We will not be silent 💔
🕯️ Turkey, face your history — acknowledge the genocide.

April 24 marks the anniversary of the Armenian Genocide — 111 years since the Ottoman Empire began the massacre of 1.5 million Armenians.
The failure to learn from the past allows history to repeat itself: in 2023, the world largely looked away as Azerbaijan ethnically cleansed the remaining Armenian population from Nagorno-Karabakh.
Azerbaijan’s ethnic cleansing campaign continues to this day. Just days ago, Azerbaijan destroyed the Holy Mother of God Cathedral — the largest church in Stepanakert, the capital of Artsakh.
Palestinian Christians stand in solidarity with their Armenian sisters and brothers. We know this pain.

“I am convinced that the sons and daughters of Armenia will continue to preserve their national identity and spiritual values.. Today we bow our heads before the memory of the hundreds of thousands of victims of the genocide of the Armenian people - one of the most terrible tragedies of the 20th century. The brutal massacre of defenseless, entirely innocent people who were killed, wounded, and driven from their native towns and villages shook the entire civilized world, and its catastrophic consequences compellingly demonstrated where the incitement of religious hatred, nationalism, and xenophobia can lead."
- Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, President of the Russian Federation (24 April 2026).

A powerful song about the Armenian, Greek, and Assyrian Genocides, “We Remember,” by a talented Greek artist— inspired by my work.
We remember, because forgetting is the first step to repeating 💔

24 April 2026 - 111th Anniversary Commemoration of the Armenian Genocide committed by the Turks
The climax of the Armenian Genocide occurred between 1915 and 1923 but it started a lot earlier, and it did not end in 1923.
Along with the Greek and Assyrian genocides, the Armenian Genocide, provided the template for the Holocaust: Forced emigration, expulsions, property confiscations, forced labour, public torture and executions, medical experiments, elementary gassings, starvation, death marches.
An estimated 1,500,000 Armenians in what is today Turkey have been murdered.
At odds with the mass historical evidence, the Turkish government maintains its odious denial that genocide even occurred.
At odds with the mass historical evidence, numerous governments, some self-appointed guardians of democracy and human rights, choose still not to recognize it.
At odds with undeniable evidence, numerous governments, turn a blind eye to the reality that is Turkey: A country that commits genocide to date; in Cyprus, in Syria, in Iraq, at Artsakh.

Today, we join Armenian communities in Canada and around the world in commemorating Armenian Genocide Memorial Day.
We honour those who endured unimaginable suffering during this dark chapter in history. Through our remembrance, we commit to vigilance — so that such atrocities are never repeated.

We must never forget the 1.5 million innocent victims of the Armenian Genocide.
We must never stop pursuing justice for the Armenian people.
And we must not be silent in the face of the modern atrocities that have reopened the wounds of 1915.

WEAK: Our State Department - doubling down on denial - posts about a visit to the Armenian Genocide Memorial without mentioning the NAME OF THE MEMORIAL or the ARMENIAN GENOCIDE that the memorial was built to commemorate.
Still enforcing Turkey's gag-rule, despite recognition by Congress (2019), White House (2021), all 50 states, and more than a dozen of our NATO allies.
