@cmclymer I want to be as hopeful as you, I really do. But I also never thought I'd see the bullsh*t of transphobia, homophobia, racism, etc. codified in 2023 USA the way we are seeing it today. Some days, despair is difficult to fight....

@amlanders Ehhhhh... to be clear, I did not at all say it'd be erased. I said that we're unlikely to get another hard-right conservative like Benedict, which, very respectfully, I think is 100% correct. Does that mean conservative nonsense goes away? No, but I didn't claim it would.

@cmclymer I'm not so sure. The damage of a zillion years of Catholic teaching will not be easily erased. "Oh but my pastor is great" - yes, & he likely brings in big $ for the diocese. He's allowed to be great until the $ stops. No thanks. My God doesn't put a price on love & acceptance.

Will they all vote for a new pope in the vein of a Francis? That's a complicated question, but I am personally optimistic that we're unlikely to get another hard conservative like Benedict.

I arrived at ATL airport recently and made my 5 year old navigate us to our gate. He had to walk up to airport employees, hand them his boarding pass, and ask for directions. A little crying, shyness, etc but we made it to the gate without much of my help!

@kristenhowerton Does it need to be musical? Mike Birbiglia's show was terrific -- at Lincoln Center. About 90 min and very enjoyable.

A little devastated that #aintnomo closed last night. We had tickets for Monday - the trip + show were Christmas gifts. Need to find another show to see with my teens. Any ideas for us? We've seen all the big-name shows.
