You don't need a fortune teller to predict student success, but we're a fan of this one! #cttlacademy

My elementary French students were so moved by the tragic fire at @notredameparis they wanted to make something to show their love for the famous monument. After learning about the history, art and significance of Notre Dame, today we finished our K-2 collaborative rose window!

A5: This is an example of a recent collaboration I did with our librarian and gym teacher! We did a K-2 unit on the Tour de France. We created an interactive map and studied the tour in French, practiced research skills in library and

A4: Play to the strengths of your colleagues! What are other teachers doing in your building that they are passionate or excited about? How could you tie that in to one of your units? When the teachers are all excited, your students will be too!! #earlylang

This is my first time joining #earlylang chat! I'm Alyssa and I teach French to grades preschool - 2nd grade. I love connecting language with art and gym/movement.

A3: I think time can be a huge barrier to collaborative lessons. When trying to involve more teachers and subject areas, you have different schedules and curricula that can present conflict. Planning experiences well in advance can help! #earlylang

@srtacoulehan Yes! In regards to the first part of your answer, I feel like collaboration can become a form of advocacy for your program. Collaborative units are always so much fun, too!

@nathanlutz Yes! This is such a powerful perception. Interdisciplinary collaboration is a great way show all the doors language can open for you #earlylang

A2: I think it's so important for us to show language is not a separate subject - it's actually a key to all other subjects! We use language as a tool to connect to other people who speak our language(s) #earlylang

@krismarley12 @mama_librarian I use the school WiFi. There were some problems at first, but after working with the tech department we got it sorted out! They do recommend using a separate router, but we can't for security reasons.

Feeling inspired by this #4t2018 session on virtual field trips. This would be such a fun way to explore other cultures in #geography. With thoughtful questions, kids could make connections between their lives and faraway places. #sschat
