Today marks six years since Gulshan Abbas was disappeared. We will not stop watching what happens to these Uyghur individuals: Amnesty will continue working on Uyghur human rights, and the eyes of the world are on the Uyghur region.

Five years ago, Zhang Zhan was arrested for courageously reporting on Covid-19. She served four years in prison on the charge of “picking quarrels and provoking trouble.” Now she's been detained again, for social media that “seriously harmed [China’s] national image”.

🎂 Happy Birthday to Chinese journalist Zhang Zhan. She has now spent over one year detained on vague criminal charges, awaiting an unfair trial. 📢 We urge the Chinese government to immediately and unconditionally release Zhang Zhan. Illustrator:  @badiucao

It’s been 3 years since the UN report on China’s human rights violations in #Xinjiang. Yet many #Uyghur families remain separated and searching for justice. Governments must act now to end the repression and pursue accountability. #FreeXinjiangDetainees xinjiang.amnesty.org
