@JeanneLocante @LaGrecca333 This thread is unfairly harsh on Boomers. My GG grand mother and Boomer mother were always in support of having children and family. However, they also knew how precarious life can be and encouraged the girls in the family to obtain a degree or skill.

@LaGrecca333 That's very sad. I'm a boomer mom with 5 children and 18 grandchildren. I made sure to tell all my kids I would love and support them whatever they decided to do in life but motherhood is absolutely the best. I've had a professional career. Not even close.

I am 45 and when I look back on my experiences as a young woman I rarely had boomer women, even close mentors, recommend children or family formation. The propaganda was that having a baby too young would ruin young women and prevent them from having a “meaningful career”. There was never any discussion of how meaningful and important a role motherhood is.

I thought Banksy was meant to be “anti-establishment”? The establishment would have helped him put up this statue. The establishment have applauded his statue. The establishment have defended it being put up. If he was really “rocking the boat” they would want him arrested.
