@RepRaskin Uh huh these were the conditions for service members stateside. 30 in a box trailer stacked plywood bunks 3 high. Spent 4 months living like this.
I just exercised my right as a Member of Congress to conduct an unannounced oversight visit of the ICE field facility in Baltimore. The staff I met with respected my right to visit, but what I saw was disgraceful. Kristi Noem has a budget of $75 billion she could use to ensure humane conditions, but we saw 60 men packed into a room shoulder-to-shoulder, 24-hours-a-day, with a single toilet in the room and no shower facilities. They sleep like sardines with aluminum foil blankets. Whether it’s for three days or seven days, nobody would want a member of their family warehoused there. The room set aside for dangerous criminals and violent offenders was empty. We’re demanding immediate answers and action.
@NateNewsNow See ya soon!! This is an easy choice. Can’t wait to see what the jury says after conviction and the next day when they do that DEEP dive of what a monster Lori is
@jlumfox10@NateNewsNow I’m sure it did. Let us know if it comes out in the transcripts what happened. I bet he is so tired of her ass and cannot wait to be done with her and her crazy!!
Judge Beresky had to order MCSO to transport Lori Daybell yesterday for trial. Not sure if this has anything to do with the long sidebar to start the day.
Back in the courtroom for day 3 of Lori Vallow Daybell's Arizona trial. Gilbert Det. Ryan Pillar will be back on the stand this morning with Maricopa County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Treena Kay questioning him. Brandon and Jenny Boudreaux are in the courtroom with other family members. Kay Woodcock is also here.
AFTERNOON THREAD: Judge is back on the bench. In relation to the email Lori wants to ask Brandon about, judge tells her the specific question she can ask. And the state can follow up with another specific question. Beresky says Lori has opened the door to an extent and the state can ask about communication Brandon had with Pillar about another case (referring to Melanie's).
@NateNewsNow She’s such a “good person”? NOT!! She’s killed 4 people. Trena Kay is not going to put up with her crap. YEAH!! I can see the prior convictions coming in. Lori has no idea in the hell what She is doing.
Judge says during the sidebar, he cautioned the defendant to be very careful because she's going into places that she shouldn't. Judge also says he warned her about saying statements like she's a good person because she opens the door to bringing in prior convictions, etc. Treena says character evidence could come into play with this trial if Lori continues this.
Day 2 of Lori Vallow Daybell's Arizona Boudreaux trial. I'm back in the courtroom. Light numbers today. Only four people on the media row. Around 20 members of the public. Judge's assistant came out into the lobby and asked if any family members are here for the defense. Nobody is. Nobody has shown up for the defense in any of the Arizona or Idaho trials.
We are in the courtroom. Brandon Boudreaux is here with his wife. Other family and friends are here sitting on the first two rows of one side of the courtroom.
Sidebar is over. Beresky says court will proceed with jury selection today. "Depending on how things go, I don't know if I will make the parties do opening statements or not. That remains to be seen. The court has not been provided any medical explanation as to why court cannot proceed today. Although the defendant said she had a headache and was not able to proceed, she seemed to be of sound mind and able to proceed."
Waiting outside the courtroom. Robert Abernethy, one of Lori Vallow Daybell's advisory attorneys, just walked into the defense room. Proceedings are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Arizona time.
Lori is loudly crying. Judge asks Lori and the prosecutor to exit because Lori would not move from her wheelchair. Judge will now explain what is going on to the jurors without the prosecutor or defense in the room.
Just walked in the courtroom. Judge is telling Lori that sometimes things need to proceed when we are feeling unwell. They are discussing "tank orders." Judge asks Lori what symptoms she is having. Nausea, chills, headache, she responds.
The State of Arizona plans to call FBI Special Agent Nicholas Balance to testify in Lori Vallow Daybell’s case involving Brandon Boudreaux.
Prosecutor Treena Kay is asking that video of his testimony not be live-streamed as Balance is involved in undercover work.
He also testified in the Idaho trials, but only audio of his testimony was distributed to media.
Balance has put together a PowerPoint of cell phone, WiFi and GPS data showing activity leading up to the day when Boudreaux was shot at while driving home from the gym.
Opening statements for Daybell’s trial are scheduled for June 2.
Just wrapped up an interview with Juror #8 from Lori Vallow Daybell's Arizona trial. Watch it tonight at 8 p.m. on "Courtroom Insider" on the @EastIDNews YouTube channel.
@NateNewsNow I wanna see the jurors faces if they watch Sins of my mother, dateline and of course, Nate’s reporting. See the WHOLE story!! What will they think?
